🚩 £5 million isn’t a vase you forgot somebody gave you.
Farage’s defence isn’t that the gift slipped his mind. He argues he didn’t have to declare it because he wasn’t engaged in politics at the time.
That’s why the subsequent evidence matters so much.
If Farage was already negotiating his return to lead Reform months before the election, the obvious question is whether the £5m should have been declared and, if so, why it wasn’t.
A £5 million gift from an overseas-based crypto billionaire to a man returning to frontline British politics is precisely the sort of financial relationship transparency rules exist to expose to public scrutiny.
The public is entitled to know who financially supports its politicians.
