BREAKING: French police have encountered rioters and looters armed with AK47s and Scorpion submachine guns on the streets of Paris, Marseille and Lyon. The information comes from the Le Journal du Dimanche journalist Laura Tchekov, who says that her newspaper has received this information from sources within the DGSI, France’s main internal security agency. The weapons were carried by minors and young adults described as being part of organized crime groups but sometimes also close to the Islamist movement in France. The journalist says that not all armed rioters were arrested and that several of them remain on free foot. It’s believed that police officers refrained from making arrests as they thought they could be both outmanned and outgunned at the moment and that hundreds of people were on the streets, creating a risk of a shoot-out that could have resulted in a large number of wounded and dead.

This is why every fan, regardless of franchise, should invest in physical media and, preferably, a NAS/Jellyfin server. @PrimeVideo is not required. Fuck 'em.
The TRUTH about why AMAZON Doesn't Care about Legacy STARGATE Fans and Chose to go with Jac Schaeffer for the new Series over Martin Gero and our OGs: This is going to BLOW YOUR MIND! Because, They Don't Need You. In Fact, Amazon Executives Believe YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN CAPTURED! We keep thinking, this makes no sense. They need long time fans to bolster viewership of their new shows... Actually They Don't. Amazon values new subscriptions over everything else. The number 1 priority for Mike Hopkins who is in charge of Amazon Prime is to keep subscriptions growing. This is the #1 metric stock holders track in streaming services. More subscribers means more advertisers which equals more dollars. This is why every streamer is in search of the mythical younger audience because they represent not yet captured subscribers. Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel and now STARGATE. We all keep saying, it makes no sense! We're not watching these new crappy shows... how can they keep making them!?!? The Answer is BECAUSE WE ARE ALREADY WATCHING. That's right. These streaming services can see that we are already subscribed and watching Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager and even Enterprise. We are still watching Star Wars eps. 1-6 (okay 4-6 anyway) and we are watching Iron man through End Game. And Guess what happened with the New Stargate Series was announced? We ramped up our watching of SG1, Atlantis and Universe with our Amazon Prime subscriptions! That was the moment they got us. And it was the moment they realized they didn't need us for new Stargate. Here is the executive pitch: "Old fans are already subscribed. They are watching the old shows and they aren't going anywhere. Since we don't have to release the views on new shows, we don't have to count on them. What we need is to focus on NEW FANS... people not already subscribed to watch Stargate. Now, who are those people? Young people, Gen Z and Gen Alpha, mostly women and young people struggling to find their identities. This generation is young and emotional and the content needs to reflect that. Besides, old fans will probably watch the new stuff anyways." What about advertisers? Won't they be upset by the views? NO! Because they are advertising across platforms and streamers can fudge the views however they want. But they can't lie on that 10-Q form to the SEC without repurcussions. So Amazon Studios TV Chief Peter Friedlander wants to keep his job and decides to hire Blair Fetter from Netflix because Netflix is arguably the only streamer that has found the mythical audience. Gero is Out and they hire 47 year old Jac Shaeffer, whose Agatha All Along and work on Wanda Vision will 100% create Stargate to capture this small and non paying segment of the population. That's right. I don't know how Amazon hasn't figured out that us Legacy Stargate fans are the ones paying the subscription fees for this Younger Audience who mostly still lives at home. That's why Robocop's original co-creators are working on the new Amazon series still. Because there is not enough original content to capture original fans yet. They are going to have to build that audience with this show and then they can replace them with future content. So, if you really want these streaming services to do the right thing, perhaps it's time we start pulling old DVDs out of storage bins and start watching our favorite old shows from physical media because that will scare the shit out of them. And just perhaps, they'll eventually start making new content for us again. #SaveStargate

This is what kills a franchise. “We gave you content. Shut up and consume! By the way, we’ve increased the price of your subscription.” “But… it doesn’t even make sense. The main char—“ “We are… The Studio. Do you think you know better?! We decide what’s best. If you criticize it, you’re a bad fan. Oh, we had to increase prices again. You were watching on more than one screen.” Fuck this nonsense. Hollywood is out of control and has been for quite some time. And God forbid you voice any criticism… you deserve death?! At this point, I honestly don’t care if it all goes tits up. At least we’d be spared the indignity of seeing characters and franchises we love being defiled on the world stage.
One of the hosts of DC’s official podcast is going viral for what he said about Lanterns critics. Coy Jandreau, who co-hosts DC Studios Showcase: The Official Podcast, went off during a Reel Rejects discussion about the backlash to the finale. “They can choke on their own tongues, dude.” Then he went further: “They’re not worth living and we’re overpopulated.” Jandreau also called people online “embarrassments to carbon” and said there are “a lot of people that just shouldn’t… be.” At another point, he joked about whether he would save someone from drowning if he thought they were an idiot. "Maybe." The comments came while he and Greg Alba were responding to people attacking Alba over his take on Hal Jordan and the Lanterns finale. The clip is now spreading across X, with one viral post asking whether an official DC podcast host just said he wants Lanterns trolls dead. This comes while the Lanterns backlash is still rolling, the show has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes fan score of any James Gunn DC project, and Clayface is already facing boycott calls. CBN has reached out to HBO Max, DC Studios, and Skydance for comment. more: cosmicbook.news/coy-jandreau…

For anyone still hoping for some form of continuation under the newly appointed Stargate showrunner, @MichaelShanks effectively settled the matter in a recent podcast. He said the @martingero series was cancelled because it still "smelled" too much like the original show. Amazon has made it clear they want a "fresh" perspective. Shanks noted that the cancelled version had only a thin thread of connection to what came before, yet that was still enough for Amazon to reject it. He’s skeptical the new take will feel meaningfully connected to the existing franchise. Bummer.. @afullcirclepod @dial_the_gate Preview: A Full Circle Podcast (Special) youtu.be/o50WFpdv9M8?si=PKgc…
