Today I was offered a full professorship @AU_Biodiversity @AarhusUni. This is my dream job and I am hugely thankful for the opportunity!
In my new position, I hope to stay mindful of my responsibility to mentor early career scientists in their efforts to stay in science.

I remember when I used to see a bee and go, YIKES a bee! And now I'm all, Oh wow a bee, hi! You ok there? Need anything? Can I get you a drink? A cushion? Wanna borrow the car?

If you want to attract native spring bees to your garden it is not just about what you plant, what you allow to grow is also important. A patch of dandelions is a magnet for bees. #dandelion #bees

We just launched our new workflow on @the_zooniverse! As our virtual fieldworker, you can help us study the pollinators of Narsarsuaq, Greenland! A perfect cure for any lockdown claustrophobia. Every classification feeds directly into my PhD! Thank you!

To ensure that none of you are going into the weekend worrying about the well-being of my script: All is good! Over the weekend, our computers will prepare almost 2 million(!) flower detections for our next @PollinatorWatch #Zooniverse project!🌼 @TokeHoye @IsaLykke @TECOLOGYxyz
The challenge of working with #BigData. You test your script thoroughly on a small subset of your data. All is running smoothly. You run the script on the full dataset. BAM! Obscure error message after 30 hours runtime. Ready. Aim. Troubleshoot!

#Bumblebees have thick hair and can warm themselves up by shivering their strong flight muscles! They can stay quite warm on a winter's day compared to other insects who would not survive. It allows bumblebees to forage in very low temperatures, sometimes year-round!

Share the love for bumblebees this Valentine's Day 🐝❤
Our top-tip: instead of buying cut roses, why not sow some bumblebee-friendly wildflower seeds and watch bumblebees pollinate your garden all summer-long. Spread love like pollen!
