For three years, I gave everything to the company that eventually tried to destroy me.
My name is Scarlett Hayes, and I worked as an assistant manager at one of the biggest logistics companies in the city. I was hardworking, disciplined, and ambitious. I believed that if I kept my head down and did my job well, success would eventually find me.
I never knew that the man I reported to every morning would become the biggest nightmare of my life.
His name was Alexander Pierce, the regional manager.
At first, he was everything a young woman could wish for in a boss. He praised my work, recommended me for important projects, and sometimes stayed behind to help me finish difficult assignments.
I thought he genuinely wanted me to succeed.
I was wrong.
One Friday evening, after most of the staff had left, Alexander asked me to join him in his office.
He closed the door, loosened his tie, and poured himself a drink.
"Scarlett, do you know how much I admire you?" he asked.
I smiled politely. "Thank you, sir."
"No, I mean beyond your work. You're beautiful, intelligent, and different from the other women here."
Something about his tone made me uncomfortable.
Then he moved closer.
"I could make you a manager before the end of the year. You wouldn't have to struggle for anything if you let me take care of you."
I stared at him, trying to understand what he meant.
Then he touched my hand.
I pulled away immediately.
"Sir, I respect you as my boss, but I'm not interested in anything beyond a professional relationship."
His smile disappeared.
"Think carefully about what you're saying, Scarlett."
"I have, sir."
I left his office that evening believing I had done the right thing.
And I had.
But I underestimated how dangerous a powerful man could become when his ego was wounded.
THE BEGINNING OF MY NIGHTMARE
Everything changed the following Monday.
Alexander stopped praising my work. He questioned every decision I made, rejected reports he had previously approved, and began calling me incompetent in front of other employees.
I tried to remain professional.

James Spader says people keep asking him if he will return as Ultron in ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’
“I can’t tell you the amount of people that come up to you if you’re an actor and you’ve been in one of the Marvel films. People would come up on the street and they’d say, ‘So just tell me. You can tell me. So are you going to be in...’ and they’d mention a film I’d never heard of. And they’re still doing it to this day on this press tour. [They’re like], ‘Does Ultron show up in Doomsday?’”

That movie proves you don't need supernatural monsters when human beings can be this terrifying.
The scariest monsters aren’t the ones hiding in the dark. They’re the ones sitting beside you, smiling at you, and pretending to care. 👀
A real monster shows you what it is. A human monster studies your weaknesses, earns your trust, and waits for the perfect moment to hurt you.
That’s what makes human evil so terrifying. Sometimes, the person you run to for protection is the very person you need protection from.

My mother called the police at my father’s funeral, accusing me of stealing the key to his secret safe.
Three days before he died, my father had pressed the key into my hand.
“If anything happens to me, give this to the lawyer. Not your mother.”
I thought he was confused.
Now my mother wanted the key, while my brother accused me of hiding our father’s will.

DNA is really so crazy. Have y'all heard that story about the woman who had a baby with her husband, but when he got a DNA test, it said he wasn't the father? The mother Gobsesssoul insisted he was the dad, so they repeated the test multiple times, and it kept saying the same thing. It later came out that, based on the DNA results, he wasn't the father... but the uncle of the child. Which made no sense because he was an only child. After more extensive testing, they discovered the husband was actually a chimera, meaning he had absorbed his twin in the womb and carried two sets of DNA. So basically... the baby was biologically his twin brother's child, even though he was the one who fathered it.
