Without healthy forests🌳🌳🌳there’s no chocolate 🍫🍫🍫 Cocoa trees rely on flourishing biodiversity to thrive. The BIOREACH project in TTO 🇹🇹, funded by @theGEF, teaches farmers how to work in harmony with nature, protecting the environment while improving productivity.

Climate-smart technologies help farmers adapt to our climate reality. With funding from @theGCF, FAO is leading the way in TTO 🇹🇹, training farmers and technical officers to use data and sustainable farming techniques, optimizing production for more resilient agri-food systems.

Turning Net-Zero Ambition into Action 🌱 Last week saw the launch of the Report - Pathways to Net Zero for the Waste and Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) Sectors. This marked an important step in advancing Trinidad and Tobago’s transition towards a greener, more resilient economy. The initiative was made possible through the support of the Government of the United Kingdom, through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and British High Commission, which provided funding through the Climate Diplomacy Fund. The Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development (MPEAD) provided oversight, while the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) served as the executing agency responsible for implementing the project. But what do these pathways mean for Trinidad and Tobago? More importantly, how can we turn the recommendations into practical action? These reports provide valuable guidance for reducing emissions, strengthening climate resilience, and supporting a more sustainable future across two critical sectors. 🎥 Watch our video to learn more about what the reports set out to achieve, why they matter, and how their recommendations can help move Trinidad and Tobago closer to a net-zero future. #NetZero #ClimateAction #WasteManagement #EMA #Sustainability @UNDPplanet @PlanningTT @theGCF @theGEF @UNTrinidadTobag @UKinCaribbean
