@PlanetFranklin
would have been 90 today. Here's a bit of tribute art. I was friends with Richard as a younger Doctor Who fan, helping him with Doctor Who facts/advice when he wrote the play 'Recall UNIT' and the story 'The Killing Stone.'

DoctorCon 1983 - Had a blast organising this with @DavidRoylance.
Pictured: @PlanetFranklin and John Levene, with David, @gordonrox and Iain McLachlan on interviewing duties, and a special appearance by Yolande Yates, Mike Yates’ mum. 😉

My great friend and the man who gave me my first professional acting job, Richard Franklin, would have been 90 today, 15/11/26. Cherishing the memories.

And once again, as is becoming tradition on Richard’s ‘heavenly’ birthday, please share your pictures with Richard in this thread. LR
To mark what would have been Richard’s 90th, Recall UNIT script advisor @georgethefourth has created this Recall UNIT comic cover, complete with the mysterious teapot that sat at the heart of his Edinburgh Fringe play. Brilliant work, George.

15/01/26 - Richard would have turned 90 today. This seems an appropriate backdrop, he loved walking in the gardens of Charterhouse. LR

I’m enjoying using generative AI to create my own classic Doctor Who adventures. It’s fun creating and directing the ‘actors’ and the camera moves. Here’s a scene from a Doctor Who episode that never was!

Captain Yates was astonished to see a familiar face outside his front door. Yates encounters his Nestene duplicate. From a Doctor Who story that never was.

I took onboard a suggestion from @SpartaThales to show Captain Yate's as a more rounded chap (and not just an action man!). Here's a shot losely based on a scene from 'The Mind of Evil'. Created using ChatGPT, Firefly and Nano Banana 2.5 (which gave a better likeness than Pro).
ALT Captain Mike Yates from Doctor Who sits at his desk, holding an old phone receiver. He has a wry smile on his face.

"WE've got visitors". More adventures for Captain Yates. Classic Doctor Who homage.

A scene inspired by the classic Doctor Who tale, Terror or the Autons! One of my favourite stories. I went for a more cinematic look.

Captain Mike Yates heroically saves the Doctor by stunning the T-Rex with the Doctor's weapon, after - er - treacherously sabotaging the Doctor's weapon in the first place. Mixed-up kid! #DoctorWho

"This way Doctor". Scene from a Doctor Who story from a parallel dimension. A generative AI dimension. #DoctorWho @PlanetFranklin
