If you have good principles that guide you from your values to your day-to-day decisions but you don’t have a systematic way of making sure they’re regularly applied, they’re not of much use. (cont.)

Online collaboration tools are seeing a huge uptick in adoption right now. Video, audio and written communication such as documents and messaging are all the keys to remote work. The one thing to focus on is collaboration. How you and your team collaborate to get things done.
Once you get past all the remote work advice, you’ll realize that you only need to focus on one thing to become excellent at it. Do you know what that one thing is?

Smart contracts may be more relatable if they were called digital contracts. Not all are smart, but all are digital. And everyone can accept we’re moving into the digital age.

My below piece “The World Has Gone Mad and the System is Broken” explains some of the crazy things that are happening, why they are happening and why I believe that they are unsustainable. I’d be interested in knowing what you think about them. bit.ly/RD11_5

People underestimate how inevitable crypto’s broad deployment is, but those that believe overestimate the likelihood of us getting it right.

1/ Don't underestimate the strength of the #hodl meme. Until we have market completeness, hodlers will make #cryptoasset prices stickier than anticipated.

5/ But right now, combine lack of market-completeness with strong hodlers in each #crypto community & we have a recipe for stickiness. Once the weak hands have sold, only strong hands remain (sometimes just the originator 🤢), and w/o shorting selling pressure dissipates.

As more crypto infra is built, user facing apps will be easier to release & emerge at an *accelerating* rate. It may feel like molasses now & people will scream, “Where’s the adoption?!,” but when app-building starts to inflect it will take our collective breath away.

This is a great thread but I disagree here Incentive to attack during bear market is much higher. In bear market, miner profitability collapses. 51% attacking (especially with shorting) is a way for miners to generate outsized revenue during bear markets

4/ The timing is also very interesting: 12 month ago, $ETC’s hashrate was even lower than its current level but with 8x of the price, to maximize the profit, bull market is better timing. @bit_kevin confirmed it as "the attacker is very nice by attacking it in a bear market" 🤣

Despite thinking about this space deeply for years, I still have so many unanswered questions about how the future will look. I'm 100% certain about almost nothing and therefore deeply skeptical when Crypto Tweeters act like they have it all figured out.

Yup, as happens every cycle, and yet they always come back in greater numbers in the cycle that follows. Developers, investors, and traders are the “users” right now, laying foundations of utility, capital, and liquidity that will allow cryptonetworks to eventually service the 🌎

What’s with all the buzz about “safe artificial general intelligence”? It’s either *safe* artificial intelligence or it’s artificial *general* intelligence. You cannot create something infinitely more intelligent than yourself and simultaneously expect to control it.

1/ For Bitcoin’s birthday tomorrow, I wish for crypto Twitter to look outside. Outside, Bitcoin has MASSIVE mindshare. NONE of the other concepts we discuss here come close. Google Trends is a good tool for gaging outside interest, so buckle up and follow me down the rabbit hole.

If the crypto boom of 2017 was the result of the longest expansionary period the economy has seen in a century, perhaps the bursting crypto bubble of 2018 is the canary in the coal mine that the search for yield has run its course. Buckle up for 2019. medium.com/@jillcarlson/cryp…

Claiming 100% certainty, and investing with that mindset, ignores the fallibility of being human and is a good way to get blindsided.
