The last people I want to see get powers to levy more taxes are those running local authorities, having seen what they do when they are given power to levy anything eg surcharge on holiday homes. If this is "devolution" I don't want it.
Exc: Andy Burnham is “determined” to grant mayors the authority to overrule local councils and introduce tourist taxes across their regions, The Times understands. Under current plans, the levy can be blocked if 2/3 of councils in a region agree to veto it

🚨226 children, some as young as 11 years old, are about to be given £500 worth of shopping vouchers by the UK Government in order to undertake a puberty blockers trial, placing them on a pathway to infertility. This is the medical scandal of our time. jamesesses.co.uk/p/state-san…

Our polling with @WStoneInsight found that 66% of Britons believe migration from countries with fewer rights for women has contributed to an increase in reported sexual offences. 🔷 Women's safety must be central to immigration policy. 👇 womenpolicycentre.com/britai…

Our polling earlier this year found that over half of family businesses had changed their future plans as a result of the BPR changes to Inheritance Tax. This is bad because family businesses create jobs, support communities and build for the next generation.

The fact police and govt say they cannot stop this hateful march on the anniversary of the 7 October massacre of Jews shows protest law is not fit for purpose. Ministers should accept my recommendation to amend the Public Order Act
🧵 We have imposed conditions on a student march that is expected to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 7 October.

Dignitas use the same drug. They produce no data, reports or research. No regulatory authority anywhere in the world has evaluated assisted dying methods. Safe? Really?
Another botched lethal injection. Pentobarbital is the drug also used in Assisted Dying regimens: "..concerns raised by Ms Pike proved true: vein access, degraded pentobarbital, no emergency medical care available, under a protocol veiled in secrecy" bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq8r…

Green Party discourages use of word "nutter"...make of that what you will
Members must “stop using words and phrases including ‘elderly’, ‘female politician’ and ‘mothers and fathers’. Also discouraged are ‘able-bodied’, ‘sex-change’, ‘homosexual’, ‘a nutter’, ‘youngster’ and ‘sexual preference’.” @TheGreenParty

I have reflected at length about what happened in Parliament on Friday. Thank you to everyone who has contacted me with their heartbreaking personal stories and campaigned on this issue for far too long. I am so sorry. Please see my statement below. Many thanks, Kim
