Had a great time at @A24 with @BernieSu, @arthuregao the crew @Pickford_AI. We are using @fal's Max and Pickford StoryKernel engine to build the next version of Whispers, the next gen of interactive/immersive storytelling.
A Pixar creative director, a venture principal and a n interactive storyteller sit on an AI panel and spend the whole time talking about character and experiences.
No tooling, no workflows, no models, just straight up what resonates long term with audiences.
Thanks for having us!

StoryKernel is now public! Experience it here: pickford.ai/create
Video models struggle with long form content. StoryKernel lets you produce stories with actual narratives; these real-time narratives are interactive and can run for as long as you want.
We’re opening an entirely new way for you to create.
We've been using StoryKernel ourselves for a while. And the first thing we built on it, an interactive murder mystery called Whispers (forbes.com/sites/dbloom/2026…), is a Finalist for the 2026 Emmys, and has played to sold out audiences at cinemas across the country.
You're opinionated on the visuals, we're not. StoryKernel can plug into whatever toolkit you already use – fal, MiniMax, Reactor, a gaming engine, and more. We track all of the story canon, making sure your story is consistent across hours and even episodes.
You'll only need to be on our page for a minute, the rest is between you and your agent.
You've seen the infinite AI slop channels. Now imagine one with a plot, characters that hold, and an audience solving a murder inside it.
Tomorrow we show one from an Emmy finalist series.

The Emmys on monday night were as star-studded as it gets - we literally bumped into Tom Holland (the star of the year's two biggest movies) in the crowded lobby while heading to our seats. As a small team from a small startup, it was humbling to be surrounded by so many talented, creative people.
We also couldn't help noticing how many awards were won by tech companies this year, with AppleTV leading the count. Hollywood is changing, but people still want storytelling.
That's why we're so excited about our partnership with @fal. We're collaborating to bring new levels of visual freedom to Whispers, while still keeping storytelling at the forefront.
Stay tuned for more to come. #emmys

Whispers is Pickford's interactive murder mystery, where the audience shapes the story live. As part of Pickford x fal, I built WhispMax, an H3 LoRA trained on the show's Unity footage. Here's how one episode and its story-engine JSON became training data.
"When Whispers aired for the first time, we asked the audience 'are you listening?' In the wake of our Emmy recognition we ask you a different question: 'do you believe?'"

A few weeks back, we were able to share the news that our project Whispers was a finalist for the 2026 Emmy for Outstanding Innovation in Emerging Media.
Well, we lost the award to Meta’s fantastic project Crafting Crimes.
We're not going to pretend that's not disappointing, but we're also not going to pretend it wasn't worth our time. In one year, a team of 10 people built a story that rewrites itself around the people watching it, and took it to the Emmys.

We celebrate one milestone by announcing another. Pickford x fal.
Tonight we’re at the 78th Emmy awards where our project Whispers is a finalist for Outstanding Innovation in Emerging Media Programming.
It also marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration with the team at @fal.
fal is working closely with us to post-train custom models on our own in-engine art for Whispers, our interactive murder mystery where the audience shapes the story live.
We could never visualize a story this way before and we’re excited to show you what comes next.
StoryKernel is our solution to the biggest problem facing AI content: they lack coherent storylines.
We’re in an era of instant entertainment, where videos can be generated in real time. But here at Pickford, we’re building narrative systems that can help keep those stories feeling like stories. StoryKernel is the engine that drives our Emmy-finalist interactive experience "Whispers" and it now plugs in to whatever 3D engine or video models you're already using.
We can't wait to see what you create.
Reach out to us for early access to StoryKernel.
