The next morning, Jess posted about me. "Imagine paying $200 for makeup and finding out the artist charges $800 if you're a bride. Same face, same brushes, same appointment. Make it make sense." People started arguing in the comments. Some said bridal makeup costs more because of the extra planning and responsibility. Others said makeup artists use weddings as an excuse to overcharge women. I haven't replied to her post because I don't want an argument online. But here's what bothers me: I never asked her for another dollar. I honoured the price she booked at, even though I didn't know it was for her wedding. Would I have done her makeup for $200 if she'd told me beforehand? Maybe. We could have discussed it, and she could have decided whether my bridal package was worth it. Instead, we're now arguing over a price I never even tried to change. I want to know honestly: if you were in my position, would you have been upset too, or do you think she did absolutely nothing wrong?
