I've moved over from esq social (which was a great place!) to the Nashtodon.com community that @n8foo created, and so far I love the local experience. That was what I enjoyed about twitter anyway.

How does @MetroSchools build a brand new campus without a single sidewalk that I can see? Are there plans to at least let kids living across the street have a safe way to walk to school, @myTDOT ? @SafeRoutesNow @americawalks @walkbikenash

When the @MetroSchools bus comes early, causing your teenagers miss the bus, and you have to wait in a 30 minute line to drop them off at @JamesLawsonHigh. (Photo taken on Hwy 70S at I-40 by my passenger!)
Happy first day of school, everyone!
I flew to D.C. yesterday morning, and it took 1 hr 52 min to get to BNA via @WeGoTransit with a long wait for the 18.
Despite only running hourly, the 18 was full of people who live and work along Elm Hill Pike. That route deserves better service.
Now is a good reminder that Nashtodon is a thing and it's awesome.

There’s a lot to digest. To start here’s an overlay of LPR placement with the racial makeup of the area. The pilot program is heavily located areas with high minority populations. Gross.
Thanks to @MNCONashville for providing an analysis of license plate reader data during the current pilot program.

Note to Metro Council Members considering #ebike subsidies:
Denver's program resulted in 100,000 fewer vehicle miles driven. And "new owners rode their ebikes an average of 26 miles a week, 22 of which replaced miles they’d normally have driven in a car."

Hey @wegotransit and @metroschools, what is the plan to get kids to the new @JamesLawsonHigh? I have called you both and neither has any details about extending Route 3B to Lawson. Sports and club practices begin there in less than 60 days. Any updates?

10-minute headways > 30-minute headways.
Longer hours _and_ increased frequencies matter, particularly for people who work different shifts.

When y'all are complaining about Taylor Swift concert traffic this weekend, I want you to realize that downtown delays would be avoidable if we already put in priority transit lanes.
And if any of y'all bike the the concerts and skip the traffic, you can be as smug as you like.

Another way to think of the Superdome deal:
Nashville is spending more than $1.5 billion in land to get out of a *maybe* $150 million renovation obligation.
Giving away a dollar to save a dime.

The Titans were never going to exercise their rights to develop the Sports Authority acreage. They don't have the capacity, especially with its infrastructure needs.
Metro would get that land back as it is today, if only it waited until 2028/2039 when the lease/extension ends.
Is there any good reason why @WeGoTransit Route 77 doesn't connect to the airport? Currently that route terminates at some apartments next to the airport instead of ending at BNA. Even with abysmal 1 hour headways, it could provide additional connectivity from BNA to Midtown.

If this was discussed during negotiations with the state it was never disclosed to councilmembers or the public.
If it was not discussed it is proof that the state is not a trustworthy partner in this deal.
Rep. Ryan Williams (R-Cookeville) says the reason for takeover of six members of the Nashville sports authority is because of state's $500 million bond issue for new football stadium.

Same with the Airport Authority. The State is about to swipe control of more than a billion dollars worth of Nashville's airport assets. Why would anyone want to build another billion-dollar asset under these circumstances? /9

I added "Almost Doored on Demonbreun" to my Nashville bike bingo card last night.
I wish I was a better person about it, but I confess I had some choice words for uber driver.
Redesign with protected bike lanes when?
