Pretty sure I’m in early labor, but I wasn’t about to miss voting in Virginia.
Two older women tried to hand me a Democrat sample ballot and asked if I knew about the constitutional amendments.
Ladies, I’m 9 months pregnant. You picked the WRONG woman.
I told them I knew exactly what was on the ballot and that I was disgusted, absolutely disgusted.
Every baby has value. Every baby deserves the right to life. And I’ll fight for their lives just as fiercely as I’d fight for my own.
So I waddled into that voting booth, contractions and all, and voted NO on Amendment 1.
Abortion should NEVER be a constitutional right.

Well, another Cardinal has come out with a, shall we say, puzzling take on evangelization.
A few years ago, Cardinal Américo Aguiar, at the time auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, said that he and the other organizers of World Youth Day in his hometown had no interest in converting anyone to Christ.
Now Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco of Algeria has opined that “the Church is not there to convert” and “Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions.”
Excuse me, but…what?
Last time I checked, the Founder said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Sure sounds like conversion to me.
When St. Paul came to Corinth or Athens or Thessalonica, his purpose was not to listen or to form a discussion group but rather to declare an unnerving message: the euangelion (glad tidings) that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.
So impassioned is he for this work that he says, “I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:22); and “If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:16)!
Moreover, the entire thrust of the Second Vatican Council was toward bringing the Light of Christ to the peoples of the world (Lumen Gentium). And this missionary élan has given rise in the last few decades to the idea of a “new evangelization,” which is to say, a fresh declaration of the Lordship of Christ.
Quite obviously, no one thinks that this work of evangelization should be done in a brow-beating, overbearing, or disrespectful manner (proselytization), but for God’s sake, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
If I really thought that the Church does not exist to bring people to Christ, then I would resign and get an honest job.

Friends, some critics say that the phrase “the pursuit of happiness” in the Declaration of Independence indicates that America was founded on individual desire, not the common good. But Jefferson was classically educated, and he would have known that happiness, in the true sense, is bound up with virtue. That’s the opening argument of Aristotle’s “Nicomachean Ethics”: All of us desire happiness, and happiness is the activity of the soul in accord with virtue.
Therefore, to speak of “the pursuit of happiness” isn’t to give in to Hobbesian subjectivism; it’s to open the soul to the virtuous pursuit of beatitude. And it’s a phrase worth reclaiming!

Public historical data favor Christianity: Jesus’ existence and crucifixion are multiply attested early, including by non-Christian sources; disciples’ resurrection experiences, rapid proclamation, and conversions of skeptics form a consensus minimal-facts core best explained by the event itself. Philosophical arguments for a personal creator cohere with this historical intervention more tightly than with impersonal or later-prophetic systems. Within Christianity the Catholic Church alone maintains unbroken institutional succession from the apostolic sees through the early councils.

Because of abortion-by-mail, women are being drugged and forced into abortions.
This was a Biden era COVID policy that can be undone today.
No in-person visit, no vote.
US Senate HELP Committee should NOT confirm Heidi Overton until in-person visit requirement is reinstated.
Since @JoeBiden administration’s removal of this requirement, nearly 2K children lose their right to life every day via abortion pill.
Reinstating is common sense leadership…

Yesterday's hearing in the Senate HELP committee with @HeidiOverton for the new @FDA commissioner was incredibly frustrating.
There has now been assault after assault with women being forcefully drugged by their boyfriends with abortion drugs all because Biden removed the Clinton/Obama requirement that abortion pills be dispensed in person.
Ohio's @JonHusted made the powerful case for why the policy must change earlier this year. Dr. Overton needs to listen to these stories, get the facts right, and commit to undoing the Biden policy before she's confirmed.

An Ohio woman says she was held down and force-fed abortion pills she did not want to take after a doctor allegedly obtained them using his estranged wife’s identity.
Sen. Bernie Moreno is now asking DOJ to review the case and consider whether federal charges are warranted after the doctor received six months in jail.
Moreno also wants the Biden-era FDA policy allowing mifepristone to be prescribed remotely and sent by mail rolled back.

A woman had abortion pills forced down her throat.
Ordered online by her boyfriend, who stole his wife's identity to drug her.
And the man got 6 months.
This is all because of the @SherrodBrown-@JoeBiden policy to allow abortion pills by mail.
Grateful to stand with @DaveYostOH @ADFLegal @sbaprolife @HeartbeatIntl @FFLNWO to call for an end of mail-order abortion.
