To kick us off in 2022, vol. 8, no. 3 is up now with our first paper of the year: '“Dog boy, media whore. It’s who the hell you take me for”: Brian Molko’s curated music magazine persona in the fan archive' by @tessavannieuw. See the issue here: shorturl.at/cgkB5 2/2
Bonus - if you want to submit to the rolling issue, you can do so whenever! The submission details are on the website: ojs.deakin.edu.au/index.php/…. (And if you're kicking yourself for missing the domesticity theme deadline, reach out - we can handle a late submission 😉)

We're delighted to launch Vol 7 of the journal with the Diversifying Persona Studies conference special issue here: ojs.deakin.edu.au/index.php/…, featuring 7 wonderful full length pieces from conference participants, edited by @kjbarbour, Katja Lee, and @CL_Moore.
In our introductory editorial for the issue (here: doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…), we talk through the conference themes, and include links to the playlists where many of the papers and webinars are included.
And the issue wraps with @travisaholland returning to the idea of a non-human, collectively constituted persona in: '“My battery is low and it's getting dark”
The Opportunity rover's collective persona': doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…
Penultimate paper 'Portrayal by Inappropriate Interaction: Persona meets persona in journalistic profiling' also looks at a poet, this time as represented by journalists. Read Steffen Moestrup and Christine Isager's piece here: doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…
In 'The Involuntary Mask of the Poet: Examining the Evolution of the Poet Persona through P.D. James’s Adam Dalgliesh', Meghan P. Nolan considers the representation of a fictional Poet persona and its connection to how we understand who poets are: doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…
Next, Joni O Salminen, Soon-gyo Jung & Bernard J. Jansen dig hard into their own field, asking 'Are Data-Driven Personas Considered Harmful? Diversifying user understandings with more than algorithms': doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…
Third, @DrJessC unpacks one element of the persona(s) of Meghan Markle on her joining the British royal family, in 'A Commonwealth Princess? The instrumentalisation of Meghan Markle’s race to construct her royal persona': doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…
Leading out the issue, we have 'Oscar: An Institutional and contested persona reading of the Academy Awards' by @RobbieBoucaut, exploring the persona(s) of a collectively constructed, non-human institution: doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…
The second piece comes from Michael Humphrey, who uses YouTube vlogs as a way into critiquing Hannah Arendt in 'The Social Oikos: Examining Arendt's concept of a public-private divide through the lens of a YouTube vlog': doi.org/10.21153/psj2021vol7…

Always something special to see your article alive and kicking. This one I did with #christineisager and it's about how journalists interact with the people they portray. Published @PersonaStudies ojs.deakin.edu.au/index.php/…
