The “Esther and Auschwitz” comment Sachs made were in reference to Danon’s UNSC speech, which made mention of Esther and Auschwitz in the context of needing to act before a genocide of the Jews takes place. Russia and China wanted Sachs to brief the council, but the UK rejected it.
