India’s forests have their own history, culture and wisdom. From the traditions associated with Ram, Buddha, Mahaveer and Valmiki to generations of tribal communities, our forests have given so much to this land. Development doesn’t mean destroying forests in the name of development! Protect forests, build medical facilities, promote responsible tourism, and create daily livelihoods for tribal communities. But don’t destroy their identity and turn their knowledge into ordinary labour. Let tribal communities identify medicinal plants, help restore them by replanting native species, preserve forest knowledge, and guide tourists to safely experience the jungle’s life and beauty. Don’t take away their strength in the name of giving them jobs. Recognise their knowledge, respect their skills, and let them lead the work they know best. The forest is not just land to be developed. It is a living ecosystem, a heritage, and a source of livelihood. Protect the forest. Empower its people. Develop without destroying. #PeopleFirst #BetterIndia 🇮🇳
