A currency can continue working exactly as designed while becoming less effective at carrying purchasing power into the future.    You can still earn dollars, save them, and spend them. But preserving the number does not necessarily preserve what years of accumulated work can actually buy.    Monetary systems have transitioned before, often with old and new systems overlapping as the rules changed around them. You don’t need to predict exactly what comes next to understand why preparation matters.    Urgency means evaluating your options while they’re still yours to make.
