Since we're seeing more movies now, @PaulaJFoley and I came up with a simple rating system: * See it today! * See it in the theatre * Stream it with popcorn * Watch it while folding laundry * Skip it * So bad you might want to see it anyway

I am solidly in the overlapping part of the Venn diagram that defines the audience for this joke
Pat went through his progressions...and decided to check down. Safe choice.

Yup - and I don’t love middleware that hides sql, either. I know and like sql ⁦@ohmypy⁩ antonz.org/fancy-ql/

Wanna win? Solve a boring problem.. The hype train is roaring for AI, but that means everyone and their pet monkey is starting an AI startup. Is that where you want to compete? There are tons of boring problems in unsexy industries waiting for you. And you can still use AI.

Cool summary!
Of course you're always making trade-offs: product, design, brand, prioritization, target customer, target market. Question: Do you write down what they are, and which way you're deciding? So that you're sure you're not self-contradictory? P.S. Now you have a strategy.

For some things GPT can obviate the need for a skill. For others GPT can give you leverage but doesn't obviate the need for skill. In fact it might require MORE skill. It's good to be aware of these two kinds of help GPT can provide you so you don't mistake one for the other.

It's amazing to me how often I think of a dance I saw more than 30 years ago, choreographed and performed solo by David Parsons (@ParsonsDance). It gives me goose bumps when I talk about it ... so simple and powerful ...

But the climax ... wow ... the audience shot to its feet, cheering madly. I'm still affected by that, 3 decades later. That's the standard of artistic excellence for me. That's what every artist is shooting for - to move people from their seats ...

I wish I could thank David Parsons for moving me so deeply. I hope he sees this. I replay that dance in my memory surprisingly often. It was like a boulder thrown into a pond 30 years ago, and the water is still rippling from it today.

Woah, difficult but interesting take … I don’t have enough experience to know if it’s “right” but definitely worth a read!
As chaotic as he’s made things since then, @elonmusk made a great culture move by giving @Twitter employees the "extremely hardcore" ultimatum. Get ready for a counterintuitive take on company culture... 🔥

I second this! Love working with @nathanjpowellUX … he’s super efficient at coming up with usable designs
Highly recommend Nathan for ongoing SaaS design/UX work. He's been helping us fill this gap in SignWell now for several months and it's been amazing working with a true pro like him. (And super nice working with someone that's been a SaaS founder so understands the business side/tradeoffs)

What if you sent an email to all customers, today, from the founder or CEO or product manager, saying you really want feedback on the company or product or anything, geniunely, and that you'll answer them. Probably a deluge of responses. Probably worth the time to respond.
