Homicide is the leading cause of death among pregnant people. New research shows women’s risk of being murdered in states w/ abortion bans increased after Dobbs. This builds on a growing, devastating catalog of data showing bans’ impact on domestic violence. Link below:

Our latest preprint from this fantastic team. Here, we assessed antibody reactivity against filoviruses including BDBV, EBOV, SUDV, and MARV, across eleven cohorts and seven provinces in DRC between 2015-2023 (n=5,852). medrxiv.org/content/10.64898…

2/ Shamonda is an orthobunyavirus in the Simbu serogroup, first isolated from cattle in Nigeria in 1965. Culicoides biting midges are its likely vectors, supported by virus isolation from field-collected midges, though experimental transmission has not been demonstrated.

Shout-out to the healthcare workers on the frontline in the Democratic Republic of Congo #DRC. They deserve immense recognition for their incredible bravery, enduring not only the physical threat of a deadly Ebola disease, but also a severe, deeply hidden mental health toll. They are silently doing their work. Not complaining, just saving lives and battling on while risking their lives daily to prevent a catastrophic global explosion of the Bundibugyo strain of the virus. Massive respect.

Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway. To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back. Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.

Good news: the extraordinarily unethical RFK Jr.-backed hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau will not proceed. Withholding the birth dose from newborns would have put them at risk of preventable infection and lifelong consequences - including liver cancer.

The new chair of the US vaccine advisory committee has questioned whether children still need the polio vaccine Polio is still circulating in parts of the world, and the only reason American kids don't get it is the vaccine. That's not a reason to stop. It's proof it works.

'...if H5N1 mutates and gains the ability to spread person-to-person, it could trigger the next global pandemic – and each new infection gives the virus more opportunities to replicate and change'. Important to note here: this is the first *reported* case in the US this year.

Good that this individual was identified and tested so quickly. Now to see if additional infections are found and if these stay connected to the first individual

The key here is that all of these cases were identified as contacts & in quarantine. What is concerning is that the index patient had a significant travel history prior to becoming ill; the issue is for close contacts who may be symptomatic, infectious & not yet identified.

The response does not end when a person is cured of ebola, colleagues like Dr Rolland of the Ministry of Health with WHO ensure that survivors like Florence & her family get continuing medical support, & we are adding NRC support in reestablishing livelihoods and fighting stigma.

It’s not based on evidence. They readily admit this. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo just delivered a fierce defense of his decision to end vaccine mandates for Hep B, chickenpox, Hib, and pneumococcal. Bookmark this. “Parental rights … absolutely need to be protected.” “It’s not a debate.” “They’re immutable.” “We’re not having a debate over what the herd immunity thresholds are.” “We’re not having a debate over the effectiveness of these different vaccines, which vary.” “We’re not having a debate over the safety of these different vaccines, which varies.” “Herd immunity isn’t constant for different vaccines.” “Some vaccines may protect against illness, but may not protect against transmission.” “To advance the goals of public health, one of the things is that we need to respect … parental rights.” “That’s been lost, unfortunately, in the conversation about public health recently.” “We’re not actually doing anything very new.” “We’re sort of falling back to classic tenets of public health.” @FLSurgeonGen @HealthyFla

Here we go again. RFK Jr. has resurrected the CDC whistleblower story from 2014. William Thompson did criticize the omission of a subgroup analysis involving African American boys. That's true and deserves examination. But the famous 260% figure came from Brian Hooker's reanalysis, which was RETRACTED because of serious methodological concerns and undisclosed conflicts of interest. The original CDC dataset remained available for independent analysis. And in 2019, researchers followed 657,461 Danish children and found no increased autism risk following MMR vaccination, including among children with other risk factors. Thompson himself publicly stated that vaccines save lives and that parents should continue vaccinating their children. A disagreement over a subgroup analysis from 2004 does not establish that MMR causes autism. Twenty-two years later, we have considerably more evidence. Perhaps it's time RFK Jr. read some of it.

HOLY CR*P 🚨 Robert F Kennedy Jr reveals that CDC Chiefs have been ordering scientists to DESTROY DATA for decades showing vaccines cause autism, then publish false findings READ THAT AGAIN RFK Jr. “I'll just tell you one example, and I could sit here and give you THOUSANDS. But in 2002, CDC did an internal study of Atlanta Fulton County, Georgia children, and looked at children who got the MMR vaccine on time and compared those to kids who got them later. So in other words, kids who got them before 36 months and kids who got them afterward. The data from that study A study showed that black boys who got the vaccine on time had a 260% greater chance of getting an autism diagnosis than children who waited. The chief scientist on that, Dr. William Thompson, the senior vaccine safety scientist at CDC, was ordered to come into a room with four other co-authors by his boss, Frank DeStefano, who's the head of the Immunization Safety Branch, and ordered to destroy data. And then they published it without that fact.”
