Sorry man, it’s frustrating. It’s a freakin lottery. Gotta love getting three wildly different opinions on a proposal. It’s a miracle we even get funded… sometimes. The system needs a serious overhaul.

Calling on all conference organizers and professional scientific societies - please do not organize conferences in states that restrict women’s rights. I will certainly not attend and I urge other scientists to not attend. Yes, I know there are also good people in these states 1/

It is way past time to pay postdocs as the valued scientists that they are. @NIH needs to 1) significantly raise minimum salaries and stipends (predocs too) and 2) let PIs cost-share fellowship from @NIH grants.
Science needs all, not just those with the financial means!
