Just finished watching the final @thegrandtour
From filling in the dark winter evenings as a kid with my dad, watching repeats on my days off and now fitting time in between work - it's been one hell of a journey.
@JeremyClarkson @RichardHammond @MrJamesMay ... Thank you!
Great training last week down in Cork, gaining our PHTLS qualifications. @adrmurphy took the time to teach us the pre-hospital emergency lifesaving procedures that we may encounter doing global repatriations.

Merry Christmas to all the emergency services who will celebrate Christmas tomorrow because they are out at work today!

Coming up to my 10th year working in pre-hospital care. Have had an absolutely awesome range of roles, training, and experiences. But let me be clear - if you ask me how to use a sling, I will fold like a lawn chair!

Yesterday, our crew on board EJ-Reva may have set a new company record by completing 2 missions within 11 hours. A crew made up of Scottish & Italian Aircrew + Irish and Portuguese Medics. Mr Steve Barcley doesn't care that the entire NHS thinks that he's a moron, because he can just go on Im A Celeb in 2 years time and eat kangaroo testicles.

Our patients and their safety are our biggest priority and we would never jeopardise that, and it makes me so sad seeing articles that make it seem like we are putting our patients health at risk for 'a bigger pay check'. Please don't believe everything you read. 😓 (2/2)

Seeing so many media articles implying the strikes are the cause for the extremely long wait times and pressures in hospitals/the ambulance service at the moment when the sad reality is that this is how our services are. Every day. Without strikes. (1/2)
If you're worried about ambulances responding to critical calls during the strike... they haven't been getting to them for 5 years or so. The crews are just taking the opportunity to point that out.

Private Seán Rooney is now on the way home.
Your duty is done a chara, you have earned your rest.
With the @UNIFIL_ flag removed,
the body of Private Seán Rooney is carried by his comrades to the @defenceforces plane which will repatriate him from Lebanon to Ireland @rtenews
Quick spot of de-icing in Edinburgh before our flight down to Cape Verde. Looking forward to the 30 degree heat!

Ireland shows Europe’s best face.
Innovative and inclusive.
Loyal to your history and traditions.
Open to the future and the world.

Go and stand with an ambulance crew as they queue to h/o 5 hours after they were due to finish. Late home, underpaid, undervauled resulting in failing relationships, losing families, losing houses, 3 x more likey to commit suicide! It's time for action. Enough of your crap! – at Louth, Ireland

My door is open to discuss with unions ways we can make the NHS a better place to work.
Our priority is keeping patients safe during any strikes and the NHS has tried and tested plans to minimise disruption and ensure emergency services continue to operate. 2/2
An ignorant and typical "Tory" response. Our ambulance services are already failing. As are the hospital trusts, primary care, social care etc. This hasn't happened overnight, and hiding behind covid wont work. The safety of patients and public does not meet your Tory agenda. – at Louth, Ireland

59% of paramedics are male & are 3x at risk of attempt/complete suicide than other male health professionals & general population. Specifically discussing men's mental health in the ambulance service can save lives #ForOurMen

Can anyone recommend any free CPD for Ventilation? Anything from the process of self ventilation to mechanical intervention and managing vents. Thanks in advance 🫁

A lovely thread regarding nurses! – at Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
On the #nursesstrike. I’ve spent most of the last 3 months in hospital with my 10 month old baby. Yes the doctors and surgeons have been exceptional, but my god the nurses…
