Sounds like some of the corrupt & compromised Maricopa County Board of Supervisors are nervous about elections workers who are blowing the whistle on what seems to be malfeasance in the upcoming election. Some members of the Board of Supervisors appear to be making veiled threats toward election workers. Also, former election officials appear to be making those same threats toward whistleblowers in the election offices.
All election workers should reach out to the FBI if they are witnessing or suspecting fraudulent or criminal behavior in the Maricopa County Election Offices or the AZ Secretary of State Office.

Under President Trump, we razed the federal debanking apparatus and redirected regulators to protect Americans from financial “deplatforming.”
This OCC report is a great example. The OCC, a powerful banking regulator, was previously weaponized for Operation Choke Point. Now, it investigates and exposes similar misconduct.
Because a lot of banking is transnational, and because “reputation risk” and “ESG” policies get incubated in international working groups and economic fora, this directly ties into diplomacy. We obviously sanction terrorists and other bad actors — but when it comes to mundane political disagreements on topics like migration or climate policy, it’s ultimately not in anybody’s interest to live in a world where your debit card can be deactivated for dissent.

The AI hysteria reminds me of how all the people squealing about climate change all bought beachfront property.
If you really think your product is going to end humanity in a few years, you’d pull the plug, not prep your IPO.
1) AI will not eradicate humanity. Humans survived an ice age, the Black Death, two world wars, and (so far) the advent of nuclear weapons. Anyone who is loudly warning of AI-caused human extinction should not be taken seriously.
2) If you worked in a company where you anticipated a 10% chance that your product would kill ten people, let alone all people, the correct response would be horror, ceasing all operations, and likely contacting the police or other criminal authorities. I am obviously no Coxon booster but at least his behavior is in line with his stated beliefs. Any current AI company employees saying "yes, me too, the thing we are building and about to IPO may kill all humans" should, again, not be taken seriously. Their actions betray their actual beliefs.
3) Antitrust law does not prevent AI companies from coordinating to make sure AI does not hurt people. It does not prevent companies working together to make sure it doesn't hack people; the DOJ and FTC made this clear a decade ago when they issued a policy statement saying that the agencies "do not believe that antitrust is – or should be – a roadblock to legitimate cybersecurity information sharing." 4) Antitrust law does absolutely prevent AI companies from organizing to prevent the entry of cheaper, upstart rivals because the bigger companies are burning cash and failing to achieve sufficient profitability. The panic of individual employees may be sincere if misguided, but the moves by their CEOs to achieve some kind of broad "antitrust waiver" or "exemption" should be meet with deep skepticism in light of the economics of the industry and the threat they face from open models.

You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement.
I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible.
But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier.
Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want.
Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well.
So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it.
If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.

I will gladly take artificial intelligence over the intelligence of all the people freaking out about it.
The people building AI and making tons of money doing it suddenly need government to control them. Cuz you know, the government is so good at stuff like tech. I mean have you ever seen a government website? They’re the best!
Oh and yea, a law by Bernie Sanders, a man who obviously would’ve struggled to use a VCR in 1985, is gonna stop AI.

Mamdani Election Bombshell: More Fraudulent Votes Cast Than Margin of Mamdani's 'Victory,' Says Election Auditor | V Saxena July, The Western Journal
A prominent election-integrity activist has uncovered bombshell evidence suggesting that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s 2025 election victory may not have been legitimate.
Marly Hornik, the founder of RealAmerica.Vote and NY Citizens Audit, has suggested that the 2025 election included large numbers of unqualified or nonexistent voters. But that’s only part of the problem.
“I actually don’t know whether Mamdani won the mayoral race, and I’m not here to say that he didn’t,” Hornik said during a July 22 interview on New York radio station WABC’s “Sid & Friends in the Morning” program.
“The problem we uncovered is that the New York City and the New York State Boards of Elections have no idea if Mamdani won the mayoral election either. And that’s where the rubber meets the road here.”
After examining 1 million of the total 2.2 million voters who participated in the election, her organization discovered that 7 percent were nonexistent in records, 6 percent had fake Social Security numbers, and 10 percent didn’t even live in NYC.
In total, they identified 230,000 illegal votes, which exceeded Mamdani’s 207,000 vote margin of victory over former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent.
And this was despite Hornik needing to still review the remaining 1.2 million voters.
“So out of 2.2 million voters, we studied about a million of them, and we found more votes that are apparently illegal than his margin of victory,” she told host Sid Rosenberg.
“Again, the issue is not whether or not Mamdani won. The issue is whether or not the boards of elections in New York are actually counting fair elections so that we are properly represented as we are constitutionally granted.”
During a July 19 interview on WABC appearance, she suggested that the boards of elections may even be guilty of misconduct:
“These statistics that we discovered … they implicate both in New York City and the New York State boards of elections in potential very serious misconduct, because we could not find 7 percent of the voters,” she said. “They don’t exist.”
“We were unable to verify any of their critical information as provided by the, by the boards of elections — their name, their date of birth, their voting address. They don’t exist. They’re fake people,” she added.
Asked what she intends to do with her findings, Hornik said she’s already forwarded them to federal authorities.
“This is in the hands of federal investigators and prosecutors right now, because again, when our right to choose representatives is diluted or harmed, injured in any way, that is a serious crime in America,” she said. “It’s not a minor thing, especially when you’re talking about 7 percent of the vote.”
Her findings have also piqued the attention of best-selling author and journalist Naomi Wolf — who served as political adviser to the campaigns of former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore. Wolfe who used to be a liberal Trump hater until she woke up:
