Meet Jonny Kim: the Navy SEAL, Harvard trained physician, and NASA astronaut whose life proves that grit and service can take you from the battlefield to orbit. Born in Los Angeles to Korean immigrant parents, Kim enlisted in the US Navy after high school in 2002, became a SEAL, and completed more than 100 combat operations in Iraq as a medic, sniper, and point man. He later earned a mathematics degree from the University of San Diego and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, became a rare dual-designated naval aviator and flight surgeon, and in 2017 was selected by NASA from more than 18,000 applicants. In April 2025 he launched aboard Soyuz MS-27 to the International Space Station, where he spent 245 days as a flight engineer, orbiting Earth 3,920 times and traveling nearly 104 million miles while conducting science for future exploration. After nearly a decade at NASA, Kim departed the agency in August 2026 to continue serving as a lieutenant commander in the US Navy. His journey, from a self-described low confidence kid to elite warrior, doctor, and astronaut, remains a powerful example of what hard work and dedication can achieve. Respect.

He was born into Hollywood royalty, became TV's most famous sidekick — and walked away from it all before anyone was ready to let him go. James MacArthur's story began long before ‘Hawaii Five-O’. He was adopted by celebrated playwright Charles MacArthur and Academy Award winner Helen Hayes. His godmother was silent film legend Lillian Gish. Growing up, dinner guests included John Steinbeck, John Barrymore, Harpo Marx, and Ben Hecht. Then everything changed. In 1949, his sister Mary died of polio at just nineteen. James was only eleven. Helen Hayes turned heartbreak into purpose, creating the Mary MacArthur Fund to help children with polio. James went to work early. He made his radio debut beside his mother in 1948. As a teenager, he painted sets, worked the lights, directed backstage, ran the parking lot, and acted whenever he could. A famous name opened few doors. He earned his place the old-fashioned way. Then Disney called. ‘Third Man on the Mountain’ ‘Swiss Family Robinson.’ More films followed. So did westerns and war dramas. Then came 1968. Producer Leonard Freeman needed a new Detective Danny "Danno" Williams after the original choice failed with audiences. James got the call. Opposite Jack Lord, he became the perfect partner. Lord commanded the room. MacArthur never needed to. Their chemistry did the talking. Then came two words. "Book 'em, Danno." Nobody expected the line to become television history. It did. For eleven seasons and more than 260 episodes, MacArthur became one of TV's most familiar faces. The success made him wealthy, and he invested heavily in Hawaiian real estate. In 1975, Helen Hayes even appeared on the show as Danny's aunt. By the late 1970s, he felt the series had become predictable. So he walked away. In 1979, he reportedly phoned the producer from South America to say he was leaving while heading toward the Amazon River. The show survived one more season. Then it was over. MacArthur returned to the stage, made guest appearances on television, and briefly returned as Danny Williams in an unaired 1997 reboot pilot. He never chased another hit. He stayed close to Hawaii, lived with quiet dignity, and in 2003 was honored by the Hawaii International Film Festival. In 2010, while discussing a cameo for the new ‘Hawaii Five-0’, James MacArthur died at seventy-two. He never made that final appearance. CBS paid tribute. Fans didn't need reminding. There was only one Danno 🌊🌴

This is how free agency works in the @NFL booth too. Joe Buck recently signed a 6 year $108M extension with ESPN. Troy Aikman is in the final year of his 5 year, $90M ESPN deal & has no offer yet. Both left Fox for ESPN in 2022. Aikman calling himself a free agent after this Super Bowl is leverage, not a breakup. The market is Tom Brady’s 10 year, $375M Fox deal ($37.5M a year). Aikman sits at about $18M this year. Once Troy has a real number or credible interest elsewhere, ESPN has to decide at what number to keep the 25 year pairing or lose Troy.

Freddie Mercury facing the Wembley Stadium crowd in London during Queen's set at Live Aid on July 13, 1985. 👑 Queen's 21-minute set started at 6:41 PM London time in front of about 72,000 people, and in a 2005 industry poll of more than 60 artists, journalists and music executives it was voted the greatest live performance in rock history. Do you agree with that poll? 👑 👇️

Brian May revealed that Freddie Mercury told him, "I can't do this anymore," after Queen's final concert in 1986. On August 9, 1986, Queen took the stage at Knebworth Park to perform what would turn out to be their final concert with Freddie Mercury. Before a crowd estimated at between 160,000 and 200,000 people, no one knew that that night would mark the end of an era. After the concert, Brian May recalls that Freddie told him, “I can’t do this anymore.” At the time, they thought it was an exaggeration following an exhausting tour. Years later, May came to understand those words differently. Freddie likely already knew the severity of his illness. He had been diagnosed with HIV before telling his bandmates in 1989. Freddie continued to perform with extraordinary energy until his last public appearance. On November 23, 1991, he announced that he had AIDS. He died the next day, November 24, at his home in Kensington, at the age of 45. For Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, his death marked the breakup of a band they had always considered inseparable.

All the technology in this world and we are still using “judgement”. Go figure…
A judgment call from officiating is the difference. #49ers fend off the Super Bowl champs.

Why is there not a camera right over the line to gain at the sideline on these types of plays? All these cameras and it’s still not enough.

Not necessarily wrong.
The Yankees don’t need more of Jorge Posada or Derek Jeter, or to go back to how things were. If anything, the issue is that they're stale. The front office has been the same people for years and years and years. They need new, fresh, modern voices from top to bottom in that organization, and it’s deeper than the manager.

Way too many times on Saturday and Sunday, offensive play callers get way too cute inside the 5 yard line. Line up and cut the gimmick shit.

Oregon is the college football version of the Padres. The Padres organization and fans care more about beating the Dodgers than winning a WS.
