While I do not affiliate with any political party in Pakistan, I am deeply disturbed by the continued imprisonment of @ImranKhanPTI
The cycle of jailing political opponents before an election fundamentally undermines democratic principles of a nation that is close to my heart.

Agreed! This is Difficult to watch! Yet, every sensitive & responsible man & woman has to watch this to understand the nature of criminal regime that runs present Pakistan! Many around the world have condemned Israeli Army for its atrocities, but IDF was not doing those atrocities against its own citizens!

Every single person who has been brought in hooded into ATC Islamabad is Pashtun. Their hearings were conducted in less than 30 seconds. This is racial profiling which will rip this country apart.

Retweet to participate for Imran Khan's safety :
We urge the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights @volker_turk to immediately send a delegation to Pakistan to directly investigate the condition of @ImranKhanPTI in prison as credible sources reveal his life is in imminent danger by the Pakistani state and the illegitimate government of Pakistan, who recently committed #IslamabadMassacre by firing on unarmed peaceful protesters in Islamabad on 26 November 2024.
The United Nations has itself demanded the immediate release of @ImranKhanPTI who has championed human rights and democracy in a 28 year ongoing struggle.
Further instability and chaos in Pakistan will negatively impact the world. We urge the United Nations @UN to uphold its duty to protect human rights and act now.

Thread: #IslamabadMassacre
26th November 2024 – a black day in the history of Pakistan where brute force and war-grade weapons were employed against unarmed peaceful citzens exercising their right to protest.
The exact number of casualties and injuries remain uncertain, as the area of the “operation clean up against civilians” was wiped out overnight, and hospital records have been tampered/blanketed to cover up and obfuscate the truth about the horrifying incident. For the last three days, families, lawyers, local and international Journalists are being denied access to the hospitals.
We are drawing the world’s attention by starting this thread to share video evidence of those who have been pronounced dead so far.

BREAKING FROM POLYCLINIC ISLAMABAD: A young Doctor on duty duringthe Islamabad massacre told her father in London she had seen 100 dead bodies and all were dumped in silos. Doctors were warned if anyone leaked the info they will face the same fate.
Rough estimate of all hospitals 300 plus dead. Massive clampdown to hide the massacre.

Imran Riaz is stronger than any army general in history of Pakistan. We have seen Musharraf fleeing the country to avoid getting arrested or prosecuted but IRK has faced the worst consequences for speaking up but he’s fighting his battle like a true journalist.
He reminds me of Sri Lankan journalist, Lasantha Wickrematunge. You can read more about him here:

😡😡😡 These actions by Maryam Nawaz are seriously condemnable! How dare she think she has the right to touch the woman and put her dupatta on her head. Unbelievable.. does she have the right to touch her just because she is a woman. How is compassion and leadership being reflected by doing this action? In fact you are encouraging other fundos in society to take such actions and think they have the right to do so. Irony of a woman who wears a dupatta as a fashion accessory and fully made up for every photoshoot puts other women on the line who are not protected by 50 plus guards. Disgraceful. These actions are wrong on so many levels…we were just recovering from the ichra incident in which a woman is being almost molested for wearing Arabic script and now this. Every woman and human rights organization should strongly condemn these actions.

I am continuing to monitor the election in Pakistan and in particular any findings made by independent election observers regarding reports of interference or harassment occurring at the polls. The U.S. must remain committed to ensuring that all our partners uphold the democratic principles we share, including the right of the people to vote in free and fair elections.

I echo the @StateDept call for a full investigation of election interference and fraud in Pakistan. Now is the time for the international community to stand on the side of the people of Pakistan. We cannot recognize a new government until it is clear that democracy has prevailed.
