OUR WORLD contrasts sharply with the inner world of silence. We're bombarded daily with the noise of our homes, workplaces, and entertainment sites. The media is always trying to get our attention. We live amidst the relentless roar of our machines, our tools, and our toys
Peace

Lord grant us grace to wrestle with the storms until we name our fears and force them to set us free, to move on with whatever limp we are left with until the pain teaches and we befriend it, until the silence subdues us into an awareness that it is holy and we are healed by it.

On this Feast of St Michael and All Angels - an angel for you from the roof of All Saints, Blythburgh.
In these dark and difficult times, may we never forget to watch for the glimmers of angels in our lives, bringing God's love and hope when we need it most.

Thank you @Pontifex for your assurance of prayers and Apostolic Blessing for this feast of #StVincentDePaul
May the example of St Vincent de Paul inspire us all to respond with charity to our brothers and sisters in most need.
St Vincent de Paul, pray for us.

We are all in need of the Father who extends His hand to us. To pray to Him, to invoke Him, is not an illusion. Illusion is to think we can do without Him! Prayer is the soul of hope.

I wouldn’t normally take pictures of customers, but this image was a lovely one and you can’t see their faces.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits

How much money has BBC saved in this lockdown with expensive outside broadcasts in sport, music etc not taking place. Cheap Re-runs of sporting repeats on most days. Surely keeping the license fee free to over 75’s is now affordable? – at Cranbrook, England

Evil never gives peace. It causes frenzy first then leaves bitterness. Instead, God’s voice never promises cheap, easily acquired joy. He invites us to go beyond our ego to find that true good: peace.

I worry that this seismic change to our constitution is not being given the attention it urgently warrants. So I'll say again:
The government wants to abolish jury trials in order to address a court backlog caused by its own cuts, under the pretence that it was caused by Covid.

This week's announcements by the PM that some indoor sales premises can open Monday and most shops on 15 June, questions directly the reasons why our churches remain closed. It is now time to move to the phased opening of our churches.

I'm grateful that prayer does not require Zoom, Skype or anything else. It's the one bit of communication that remains the same as it has always been and is not subject to the signal cutting out, trying to get a word in edgeways or giving you a headache.
