deeply grateful to sam for taking the time to speak to me about child sexual abuse imagery. we recorded this months ago but the episode was held due to … well news… however it’s as important as ever and unfortunately remains very timely.

In Minneapolis, people never cared much about how Mike Freeman refused to stand up to sexual violence. Now he's finally gotten everyone's attention as the prosecutor who'd watch his city burn before he'd arrest a rogue cop for murder. Maybe it's time for a closer look.

We just reviewed a report by Minnesota’s sentencing commission on how their state response to child sexual exploitation compares to a handful of others. What did the Commission’s data show? (1/4)

Fair, but accountability isn't working until the finger-pointing starts! Your advocacy seems far ahead of efforts in the U.S., where very few NGOs are willing to risk angering prosecutors over poor performance. Great to follow U.K. progress.

Scanning for child abuse imagery isn’t an invasion of privacy as tech giants claim. It should be mandatory. I hope lawmakers like @MarkWarner & @HawleyMO make it the law. 4/

Zuckerberg questioned by @RepAnnWagner about some of the questions we raised in our investigation into online child sexual abuse material
a lot of attention on grilling of Zuckerberg by @RepKatiePorter, @aoc but also watch him with @RepAnnWagner. Concerns are bipartisan. Something in common here...happened at FB hearings last April. Women are leading push to raise bar - understanding impact to children / future.

“Its plan calls for a new state law allowing #foster children to be forced into placements for up to 90 days & given drugs to control them through a court order.” *THIS IS THE WORST IDEA ON THE PLANET.

45 million… That’s how many images and videos on the internet were flagged as child sexual abuse last year. It’s time for Congress to fully fund desperately needed resources for law enforcement and nonprofits, such as @MissingKids, and address this heinous problem.

Zuckerberg: We've been a leader in reporting illegal content. But the equities are in favor of getting out of that business. Now we'll deliver quality over quantity. Something something. We'll call it prevention!

A clean start for low-level drug crimes is a good idea. The devil is in the details. MN prosecutors like @PeteOrput routinely reduce child rape and trafficking in child abuse imagery to misdemeanors. Would they be on a fast-track to expungement too? startribune.com/ramsey-and-w…

Regardless of how hard we work, we will likely always be "understaffed, underfunded" and at our "breaking point". The exponentially ever increasing workload of our partners at NCMEC and the ICAC Task Forces across the country is staggering... nytimes.com/interactive/2019…

Thanks @PROTECT! Imagine what we could do as a society if we had more organizations, more donors, more people willing to take up this fight?
This tweet is from one of the task forces reported in the @nytimes article. You know the horrific descriptions of child abuse it describes? They see that and worse every day. They make terrible sacrifices. It must be painful to get so little support. @mhkeller

As a cybercrime prosecutor, I am aggressive in prosecuting those who engage in child sexual exploitation; but there’s no end in sight to the abuse. I appreciate this in depth article. nytimes.com/interactive/2019…
