ALT How do Ofsted inspectors look at enrichment? Inspectors consider enrichment as part of their wider assessment of how a school or college supports personal development and wellbeing. Enrichment is a broad term and within our inspection materials includes: extra-curricular activities, including educational visits spiritual, moral, social and cultural education sporting, artistic and musical opportunities activities that promote pupils' wider development, character and wellbeing

ALT Enrichment opportunities can help expand horizons, raise aspirations and improve engagement, and we want to ensure that these opportunities are available for all children and learners. The Department for Education's enrichment framework for schools and colleges suggests steps leaders can take to ensure their pupils have these opportunities. Inspectors will be aware of the enrichment framework, but the guidance is non-statutory. Schools or colleges do not need to meet or follow it to achieve an 'expected standard' or above as part of our grading criteria.
