My first date with my now-wife was at CCD. The idiot that I am, I forgot my wallet. I didn’t have a smartphone to even use UPI, which had just started back then. She paid for it. The next one was a walking date. I apologized for what happened on the first date and tried to make it up to her by paying her back. She refused. By the third date, we knew this was going to turn into something beautiful. After 10 years, she still pays for our coffee dates. Glad she didn’t judge me on the first date.
