Dear FIDE President,
I do not want to be part of a family that includes FIDE vice President Mr. Kolobkov 🇷🇺 who supports the killing of my Ukrainian 🇺🇦 chess friends.
There will be no Gens Una Sumus with Mr. Kolobkov 🇷🇺
A new day for FIDE.
The election is behind us. Now our focus is on what lies ahead - working together, delivering on our commitments, and building an even stronger future for chess, for Member Federations, for the players and the fans.
Today is the final round of the Olympiad and the second day of the FIDE Congress. I wish all the players, delegates, officials and everyone involved a wonderful day.
The work begins.

Tje FIDE General assembly has been shut down due to a lack of quorom.
We are a joke of a democracy.
The President is not there, nor newly elected Council members.
And less than 50 % of delegates care to show up.

#chess It is NOT a good start for the new FIDE administration to ignore and bypass the Ukrainian Chess Federation @UAchessfed in appointing a Ukrainian vice-president without their official approval. In addition to the fact that Mr Podolyak has absolutely no relation to chess, exactly as Mr Kolobkov (RUS) doesn't. At this point, both choices seem to serve only non-chess interests and constitute a co-ordinated attack on the Ukrainian Chess Federation.

Indeed. FIDE politics is like Chess960; the pieces get shuffled around but the game is always the same. Russian money and influence, chess and chess politics as a quasi-diplomatic soft power and money laundering tool.

Sorry, but I think Pavel Kolobkov should not be running for Vice President, and I was one of the signatories, together with @GMastrokoukos and the @uachessfed, asking the electoral commission to reject his candidacy.
An embarrassing day for chess.
Turlov was obviously the Russian 🇷🇺 preferred candiate, with Dvorkovich, Karjakin, Balgabaev,Glukhovsky and of course the Chess Federation of Russia supporting him.
Now Russia will continiue using FIDE for soft power.
Saddening and embarassing.

We agree on this, but I fear he will be elected, Arkady Dvorkovich campaigning on his behalf. He is unacceptable, legal action against FIDE must be taken if it can be funded. Whatever the outcome of the elections I will back this legal action with my time and ££. His candidacy clearly contravenes a CAS decision. @PHChess @GMastrokoukos

Norway is one of many countries whose chess communities and federations are supporting our campaign—and the Norwegian Chess Federation has now made its position public.
It has named Malcolm Pein and me as its first choice in the FIDE presidential election, stating that our ticket is the closest to its values.
This decision follows meetings with all three presidential teams and an open dialogue with its members. I appreciate both the confidence placed in us and the care taken to reach that decision.
Federations deserve leadership that listens, answers difficult questions and takes responsibility. That is the standard Malcolm and I intend to uphold.
Thank you to everyone supporting us. Your trust strengthens our determination to work for the future of chess.
