Since I was 16 till now, the number of times I have complained about having money issues and people have asked if I don’t have a partner or if there are no men interested in me is crazy. Few people have offered career advice or opportunities. It’s appalling.
As a society, we need to stop pushing this idea that women should rely on romantic or sexual partners for financial support. Introduce women to opportunities instead, teach them financial management and ways to gain financial independence.
There’s also the issue of using how much men are willing to spend on a woman as a measure of desirability, and assuming that any woman who doesn’t have a man throwing money at her isn’t valuable or beautiful enough. It’s a commodification of personhood that is so disgusting.

I dont get a single allowance yet my work is a distraction from chores
My brother's football hobby gets sponsored and is seen as a necessity because they can skip chores and yes they have an allowance

Funny enough, what that girl posted has gone beyond social media. Yesterday, I heard my neighbour making a phone call, telling his brother that they had sent it to their vendors’ WhatsApp group. They were saying that the Itel Power Tank is not a good buy at all because one allegedly exploded in somebody’s shop, causing the shop and all the goods inside to burn. The goods were reportedly worth millions of naira.
The man isn't even on X; he only uses WhatsApp.

Menstrual cup is a huge game changer
No one even talks about the hygiene, your period hygiene significantly improves, you don't have that period smell and if you're worried about it being full, you can always feel air escaping for like 30 mins before it overflows.
I had my menstrual cup for almost 6 years. That’s N14,000 for 6 years. Thats a ridiculous savings. Only threw it out cause my whole house had a mold issue and I didn’t want to take risk.
I just bought another from med plus. N12,500 last weekend. Thats another at 6 years. Also no trash, nothing to dispose of. Just pour down the toilet and flush.
I also have significantly less cramps, absolutely zero irritation, can swim, sleep naked and go out for hours without changing on regular days. I have one heavy flow day per period where I have to change once every three to four hours but most days I’m fine for up to 8/10 hours at a time.
Also with practice you learn how to empty your cup without spilling a drop so I can change in public toilets with zero stress.
