He does have a Rio Grande Plan hat displayed in his office. So there's that
Utah can do a helluva lot worse than Mike Schultz as speaker. That said, traditional politics is for the speaker to step aside after losing this big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It turns out you can in fact do *too much* research on the blue line extension... The Utah land developer never fails to strike a hot iron

Is it good or bad that a spur to the South Towne Mall was never built? I think it was a good thing

For more context, it likely would have been a proto S-line that shuttled people between the mall and Civic Center Station. With the transfer station being north of Sego Lilly Dr 😅

There’s something beautiful about riding public transit after a night like last night. Here’s to hoping we get our public realm back in this next phase of our governance. We are a better people when we share space together - schools, parks, transit, churches, and markets.

It seems like WFRC is no longer thinking about rail service to Tooele County. The current transit plans out to 2055 will rely on "automated buses" to increase capacity long term

The S-Line would be called the Sugar House Streetcar if we didn't want south salt lakers to feel bad about it

This is an absolutely insane way to build an infill station, but given the constraints, makes sense. I would imagine the Krog Street station will basically end up looking the same. So whatever they do here will be applied there.

Utah Bustang? UDOT has dropped an RFP for two new intercity bus routes. One between SLC - Blanding and another between SLC - Vernal Both routes would operate 365 days per year

It's so nice when you bump into a candidate out knocking doors for office, and they immediately light up when you mention "Rio Grande Plan" 🙂

You know what actually this sucks. "The Point" simultaneously ruined the Blue line extension, and is now putting huge financial strain on FrontRunner 2X

Agenda has been released for the 2027 UTA budget meeting next week. Of note, it would appear that the Davis-SLC BRT project may have been dropped

I hope everyone understands why I accidentally bumped into these faregate doors once after tapping my card. They are IMPOSSIBLE to see...

I prefer the blood pressure raising kick I get from the CNN election theme tbh

A blue line extension won't have banger ridership numbers, but it gets UDOT in the habit of building rail, and unlocks a ton of plans that Utah county has for light rail expansion buildingsaltlake.com/udots-c…
Yesterday, IDOT joined @GovPritzker and leaders to celebrate the new MetroLink extension to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport—the first expansion in 20 years. This $192M #RebuildIllinois project connects both area airports and boosts transit in Metro East. prez.ly/Rrhe

The city should beautify 600 W. This would have two benefits: 1. Make the area around SL Central more welcoming to pedestrian traffic until the Rio Grande Plan is built. 2. It wouldn't need to be TORN UP when building the Rio Grande Plan (Like 500 W will) Your move Salt Lake City

This is what happens when you consistently show up and gather support for these huge, transformative projects
A tale of two undergrounds: The Roosevelt Boulevard Subway started as a grassroots effort and is now a hugely popular transit idea. Showing up on the SEPTA accelerate vision plan The Rio Grande Plan is also highly popular, and was added to WFRC's 2027 draft projects list
