Our streets should be designed to prevent this. Sadly this is where MARTA has designed it's first BRT route.
The only thing preventing cars from doing this all of the time is traffic. We need to design better streets - where this can't happen. Especially on a transit route.
A deadly crash involving two vehicles happened after 11 p.m. Tuesday on Hank Aaron Drive in southeast Atlanta. fox5atlanta.com/news/fatal-c…

Nice! It looks like MARTA is testing out the new Bus Rapid Transit vehicles for the Summerhill line.
Spotted this evening on Mitchell Street. – at Atlanta, GA
OK - serious question here. This officer believes that this is a legitimate parking spot because of the curb cut out. I asked him, why not park in the garage across the street and he insisted this was a legal spot.
So - is this legal? @GeorgiaStatePat

Atlanta, take a bow.
Organizers, stadium staff, state/local governments and police, MARTA - everyone made this an unqualified success for our city.

Really don’t understand how people think this is worse than it getting dark before even getting a chance to get home from work.
And the kids going to school in the dark doesn’t hold weight either - elementary school starts before sunrise for months in Atlanta
Our streets are some of our most valuable public land.
I love it when they are used for more than just cars! Great job DOT - keep doing this.

Man... if only Atlanta would take a hint and extend its streetcar, as has been planned for over a decade now....
Replying to @JosephPolitano
This month, we got our first data on the Kansas City Streetcar riverfront extension that opened mid-May—in combination with the main street extension to UMKC, ridership has more than doubled compared to last year!
The system now has more ridership than the Portland streetcars

Thierry and Zlatan saying they wouldn't have become soccer players because of the costs of the American youth system, then seeing Lalas say it's a great system because it makes a lot of money for some people really sums it all up nicely

The best article on the events and how US Soccer applied pressure appropriately by arguing FIFA’s own VAR protocol was misapplied. It argued slow-motion is only supposed to check the exact point of contact, not decide intent or how “serious” it looked in replay.
They filed a formal legal appeal and made it clear they were ready to take the whole thing to CAS (the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland).
FIFA feared going to CAS because of the validity of the claim and that they can lose control of appeals when under CAS.

🚨 Exclusive: The White House made a direct call to FIFA to ask Gianni Infantino to review Folarin Balogun’s red card.
FIFA approached for comment and referred to the findings of its independent committee.
FIFA sources insist White House influence could not affect the decision due to the powers contained in Article 27 and the independent nature of the disciplinary panel.
