With considerable regret, the administrative committee for Oxford Humanists has decided that it is time to begin the process of winding up the group. Over coming weeks, the committee will be working on how best to effect closure and will keep members updated as things progress.

Very worrying ! Iran has accused journalists, Niloufar Hamedi & Elaheh Mohammadi of being trained U.S. agents. Hamedi was among the first to report on #Mahsamini’ s hospitalization & Mohammadi covered Amini’s funeral. They did their job.

Another precious life taken by the ruthless regime in Iran. 17-yr-old #SadafMovahedi died from internal bleeding after being beaten with a baton by security forces on her way back from school. Her family is being threatened to stay silent.

The problem is not people being uneducated.
The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught. 🧠

We saved two young children from a flooded area and brought them to our orphanage a couple of days ago. Mustapha & Mouphatou were already facing hardship as their father had recently passed away and unfortunately their mother had also left them. Our orphanage now has 30 children.

Responding to @BritishAcademy_'s report which warns of a "Covid decade" following the pandemic, @EHRCChair says that "UK and devolved governments must now put equality and human rights at the heart of our national recovery strategies so that no-one is left behind."

ALT “The reverberations of the COVID 19 pandemic have been felt in all areas of our society. However, some people and communities have been hit harder, as deep-seated existing inequalities have been both exposed and exacerbated. Today’s report demonstrates the long-term risks posed by the pandemic to equality and social cohesion in Britain. UK and devolved governments must now put equality and human rights at the heart of our national recovery strategies so that no-one is left behind. Instead people of all backgrounds should have the opportunity to contribute as we rebuild.” Baroness Kishwer Falkner, EHRC Chair
Today on the anniversary of Britain’s first lockdown we publish 'The #COVIDdecade: understanding the long-term societal impacts of COVID-19', a new multi-disciplinary evidence review of the pandemic's effects on society. thebritishacademy.ac.uk/news…

The #Census2021 presumes you have a religion. It asks 'What is your religion?'
That's like asking 'What football team do you support?' when you don't follow football.
If you're not religious, and want to see an end to religious privilege in UK politics, #TickNoReligion. RT
