The work will continue over the next 4 to 6 weeks, with the hope of creating a safer and more comfortable home. Today, we handed over a newly renovated home to Rachel Umuhoza, a genocide survivor, in Bugesera District, Musenyi Sector. Made possible with the support of @QTSoftwareltd , @RSwitch, and Friends of Our Past, this home is a reflection of what can be achieved when communities come together with a shared purpose. This handover was especially meaningful as part of our Kids Edition, where children took part in the journey, learning the importance of giving back, serving their community, and understanding the history that inspires this work. Ahead of the #Spinnyandfriends Summer Festival, we joined the Spinny & Friends team for a day of remembrance, learning, and community impact. Together, we visited the Nyamata Genocide Memorial to learn from our history and reflect on its lessons. We also provided goats to five genocide survivor families to support their livelihoods and strengthen their healing journey. Today, with the support of Choplife Foundation, we visited the Nyanza Genocide Memorial to honor the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. We later shared a moment with genocide survivors, listening, and reflecting together. Through @Ibuka_Rwanda , we were also able to extend financial support to survivors as part of our continued commitment to remembrance and solidarity supporting 1,000 beneficiaries to get health insurance (Mutuel De Sante). #Kwibuka32 #OurPast26 – at Rwanda

Last Saturday , we joined the community of Bugesera District, Musenyi Sector, to officially begin the renovation of a house for one of our beneficiaries. Supported by @QTSoftwareltd, @RSwitch, and Friends of Our Past, this activity was made even more special by the participation of the local community, who once again reminded us that meaningful change happens when people come together. We were also honored to learn more about our country's history through the testimony of a genocide survivor from the community, a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance, resilience, and unity. Today, we visited the two Menstrual Hygiene Management rooms established built in Bugesera District through our initiative with the support of our partners. These rooms currently serve over 800 students, 37 teachers, and the neighboring community. During the visit, we supplied essential materials for daily use and held discussions on potential projects to ensure the long-term sustainability of the facilities. Our goal is to build additional rooms to address the existing gap and contribute to the fight against period poverty.
