NFL punter Kasey Redfern has tragically passed away at just 35 years old following a heartbreaking three-year battle with brain cancer. Redfern was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and central nervous system lymphoma in 2023, undergoing years of treatment before his health deteriorated. On September 26, his 35th birthday, his wife Lauryl shared the devastating news that he was entering hospice care after experiencing serious memory loss, falls and other complications. “His poor brain has had all it can take treatment wise,” she wrote, explaining that the family wanted to keep him as comfortable as possible. Redfern spent time with seven NFL organizations, including the Jaguars, Lions, Cowboys and Falcons.
