Bullying a guy larping as a grad student because he’s advocating for worse conditions for real grad students does actually put PeePeePooPoo on the moral high ground

On this, I'd like to survey people on why they are already tired of the IPL at 74 games. I have a few conjectures, but what do people think? Why is this a thing this year?

Unreal bs. The entire Vijayanagara empire came into existence as a reaction to muslim attacks and occupations down South. These people act like the South was holidaying in a resort. It's not the south's fault that you couldn't get a stable Hindu kingdom up North for a long time. We have our share of struggles with the Portuguese who were particularly extremely cruel. If only the Delhi centric history books covered our history thoroughly.

Sorry for platforming Torres, but I need to keep these receipts.
If anyone takes Emile Torres seriously in a “they have good critiques“-context, cite this, it’s self-explanatory.
Torres links a video they haven’t seen to criticise a blog post they haven’t read. Admits to it!

AdS/CFT turning out to be really useful for condensed matter physics should be counted as a practical success for string theory, IMO.

This post is a textbook example of in-group bias:
The debate about generative AI is interesting because it's all the brilliant, creative people who value truth and the human intellect on one side and all the uncreative, intellectually sluggish people who can't write a paragraph on the other, and the latter group is winning because they've got capital on their side.

physicists are very antisocial by nature. if one ever tells you they're interested in forming a group, you can be sure it's a Lie.

All the good records and wins achieved by the Indian team under Gambhir's coaching been largely been about the gulf between India and opposition, whether it was CT or the Asia Cup. He continues to mess up team combinations, on field strategies & selections. No accountability too

Conservatives who block housing supply are creating their own opposition. A generation that can't afford housing has no stake in protecting property rights. Why defend capitalism if it's not working for you?

I really hope Josh Tongue and Imran Butt get to play against each other at some point in their careers, just so that we get to read "Tongue to Butt" on Cricinfo commentary.
