Do you know what's in that vape pen? Many vaping devices and THC cartridges are bought illegally off the street and can be laced with dangerous substances, including deadly fentanyl. Illegal vape sales also contribute to violence in our community. A recent study revealed that 48% of teens have tried a vape or e-cigarette at least once, exposing them to unnecessary risks—including overdose. If you choose to vape, do so legally and purchase from a licensed merchant. #noVape @StopVaping #StopVaping

School-related social media threats have gone viral, creating fear in our Tucson community. TPD takes these threats very seriously. In the past week, we have investigated over 100 9-1-1 calls, spoken to and questioned numerous individuals involved, and arrested six teenagers, all under the age of 16. Those spreading fear and threatening schools are being held accountable with serious criminal charges. As of today, there have been no known credible threats to any Tucson-area schools. Whether you're a parent, guardian, student, administrator, friend, or neighbor—we all share the same goal: keeping kids and staff safe in our schools. Have those courageous conversations to help kids understand the dangers and consequences of creating, posting, or sharing any threat of violence. What may seem like a prank, a joke, or even sharing someone else's threat can lead to criminal charges and expulsion from school. Report it, don’t repost it!

We extend our love and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Detective Ryan So of the Scottsdale Police Department.

Officer Adam R. Buckner, you will forever be in our hearts, and we will never forget the impact you have had on our department, our #Tucson community, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. May you rest in peace. End of Watch: March 31, 2024
