I had never given public executions deep thought before. Palmer makes an excellent point here. I lean toward agreement
I am getting lots of incoming questions about the public execution of Nidal Hasan, mostly because I have been outspoken on wanting public executions for over a decade. My position is simple: Executions should be public and brutal, not private and medicalized. They are the ultimate example of the state's monopoly on violence, and the only way to keep that from running out of control is to confront voters with the trade they have made every single time, that they might have appropiate confidence or revulsion in the institution. This is not new thinking. George Washington thought the same. The way we have shifted from hanging to firing squads to doctors quietly injecting chemicals that send our worst gently off to sleep is awful and dystopian, a total short-circuiting of important feedback mechanisms. It makes needless executions more likely, not less so. People who demean this as barbaric or yucky miss the whole point. It doesn't somehow become torture or inhumane (as the UN is suddenly claiming) just because we decline to hide the act behind a curtain. And then there are those who suggest any revel in the death of those who truly deserve it is an indicator of a broken or diseased mind. To the contrary. It is normal, good, and aligned with our natural and national order. That it has not been done here in 60 years is an indictment in and of itself. And that is without even getting into the fact that men were not hung for stealing horse, but that horses may not be stolen. "I would to God that one of the most attrocious in each State was hung in Gibbets, up on a gallows five times as high as the one prepared by Haman. No punishment, in my opinion, is too great for the Man, who can build his greatness upon his Country’s ruin." - George Washington, 1778

🚨 WOW! SecWar Pete Hegseth just announced the firing squad execution of Fort Hood Islamist terrorist Nidal Hasan will be **PUBLIC** At the SAME time and place where Hasan carried out the attack. "We'll make sure that people are able to watch it. That it's public. Because people need to understand that there's serious consequences for these types of things!" "He's gonna get a firing squad of soldiers. As it should be." @JackPosobiec: Did he make any final requests? HEGSETH: "Don't care. We'll see him on December 3rd." 🥶 Hasan m*rdered 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009 while yelling "Allahu Akbar" and wounded more than 30 others He was sentenced to death in 2013 and then sat on death row for over a DECADE. The Acting Sec. of the Army made it official The victims' families finally get JUSTICE 🙏🏻 Our SecWar is stone COLD when it comes to traitors like this who take American lives. @RealAmVoice

20 years ago today, Oct 4, 2006, I received my “involuntary” activation orders at Goldman (rightly suspicious about the adjective). With two boys determined to join, the mission to help proliferate unmanned systems across the Services has a personal element. @SecWar speech: “Golden Rule.  My sons…are no more important than yours.  All precious souls, made in the image and likeness of God.  Every parent in this country deserves to know that their child that joins our ranks is entering exactly the kind of unit that the Secretary of War would want his son to join.”

#BREAKING Law enforcement sources confirm that roughly 500 troops are deploying this week to Texas’ Rio Grande Valley —Being dropped onto islands by chinook helicopters. It comes after suspected cartel members shot at a USCG vessel near Roma over the weekend—The coast guard returned fire. @USCG in a statement saying, “On Sept. 26, Coast Guard Forces Rio Grande personnel encountered gunfire from the Mexican border in the vicinity of Garceno, Texas while conducting joint interdiction operations with federal partners on the Rio Grande. Coast Guard personnel returned fire. No injuries to Coast Guard, or other personnel were reported, and no damage to Coast Guard assets was reported.    The Coast Guard works closely with U.S. Border Patrol, the Department of War and the Texas Military Department to secure the border, disrupt illicit activity and protect the American people. We will continue to leverage a layered, integrated approach to control, secure, and defend the border that strengthens our collective ability to counter illicit activity and safeguard our personnel and the communities we serve.   Threats to Coast Guard members and our partners are taken extremely seriously. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.” 🎥 via Mateo Garcia

I keep telling you all this. Prepare to wake up on Day 1 of WWIII to find out that the Chinese or Russians have destroyed many of our refueling, AWACS, and cargo aircraft on the ramp in CONUS. You thought Pearl Harbor was bad? Wait until this at a dozen bases across the country.
If that was a van full of drones, we would have woken up to a substantial number of burning B1s. We had better get our shit together.

Following years of work by the PIDB, a collection of key 9/11 documents has just been released, including a summary of the information presidents received in the lead-up to the attack. Thanks to @realDonaldTrump for making this happen and supporting further transparency.

I remember vividly sitting in big bean bag chairs at the USO watching the first half of @AlabamaFTBL vs @auburn in the 2010 Iron Bowl while I was in Iraq. Auburn fans crying as the Tigers were being thrashed by my Crimson Tide. Didn’t get to see the 2nd half from my CHU…
Before Wi-Fi in your CHU, before FaceTime, before everyone carried a smartphone… There was the MWR INTERNET & PHONE CENTER. This was probably the most emotionally dangerous building on the entire FOB. You'd wait 45 minutes for a computer, log in, open Yahoo Mail, and then wait some more. And wait some more. "LOADING…" you'd finally get one email from home, only for the dude running the place to yell, “YOU GOT FIVE MINUTES LEFT!” 😂😂😂 And the phone booths were even better. You'd stand in line forever, clutching an AT&T calling card like it was classified material. Finally calling home: “Hey, babe, it's me.” 3-second satellite delay. “What?” “I SAID IT'S ME.” “What?” “NEVER MIND.” Meanwhile, somebody three booths down would be having the loudest deployment breakup in GWOT history, and 15 dudes in line would be pretending they couldn't hear every single word. And God help you if a COMMS BLACKOUT happened. Suddenly, everybody knew. Nobody asked questions. If you experienced the early-GWOT internet café/phone center, you probably have a story to tell. 👇 WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT THESE PLACES? @Boots_N_Chutes @DropzoneBrief

Space Academy almost certainly a lock for Huntsville, the congressional math (committee assignments, below) for at least this Congress mean the Alabama delegation will likely have the leverage:
HAC-D: Chair Calvert (CA-41), Ranking McCollum (MN-4). Key members: Aderholt (AL-4, near Huntsville), Carter/Ellzey (TX), Diaz-Balart (FL-26). SAC-D: Chair McConnell (KY), Ranking Coons (DE). AL has Britt on full Approps + Tuberville on SASC Strat Forces. HASC Strat Forces (space): Chair DesJarlais (TN-4), Ranking Moulton (MA-6). Crank (CO-5, Colorado Springs) is a member. HASC Chair Rogers (AL-3). SASC Strat Forces: Chair Fischer (NE), Ranking King (ME). Tuberville (AL) is a member. Strongest congressional levers point to Huntsville/Redstone AL (SpaceCom move + multiple members), Colorado Springs CO, Houston TX (Babin chairs Science Cmte, announcement site), or Florida Space Coast.

I’m going to go out in a limb here and predict Enes breaks every record in the WNBA in year one. She truly is going to make a spectacular women’s basketball player.
After careful consideration and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines, I’m officially declaring myself a @WNBA prospect. If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA. My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027. I know my presence on the court will stir up strong opinions. I am definitely not here to mock, make fun of, or disrespect any community or personal choices. I’m simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone — the rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for. My team and I are prepared to ensure these guidelines are applied equally, consistently, and without exception, and I look forward to the #WNBA honoring its stated principles. See you at training camp. enesfreedom.com
