Dear @TheDemocrats senators-elect and congresspeople-elect:
If Schumer and Jeffries didn’t endorse you in the primary, and especially if they waited til last minute in the general, you have absolutely ZERO obligation to just sit back and let them assume leadership of the party.
Florida not out of reach like thought. Pennsylvania just needs to primary Festerman. AND all other seats are in states that just swung Dem.
Democrats have already clinched 54 Senate seats. So why do the uncalled Senate races in Alaska and Mississippi matter so much?
If Democrats can win both (and they are currently favored in both), they will have 56 seats.
And — at least how it looks today, obviously things can and will change — Republicans would basically need to run the table for in competitive Senate races in 2028 (with a very unpopular lame duck Trump in office, no less) to have a chance to claw their way back to 50 seats before the end of the decade.
