Extraordinary reporting by the WSJ team @JoeWSJ @DanaMattioli @drewhinshaw @rebeccaballhaus into Trump’s Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle - Don Jr’s ex & former Fox host - has led to her ousting. Staggering to read their exposes on her litany of misconduct. Chapeau.
BREAKING: Trump ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle has been asked to resign after allegations of improper conduct, the White House says. apnews.com/live/trump-midter…

I always love speaking to @marklowen @BBCNews. We covered:
▪️How #Yemen's #Houthis have become so capable (support from #Iran, exploiting truce, experience, zeal)
▪️Saudi's likely response (kinetic surge, engaging allies)
▪️What #America, #Turkey, #Pakistan might do (provide support but avoid being sucked into direct combat unless strictly limited)
▪️Why the airport attacks are so problematic for #Saudi (step change, no good options, damage not just human, infrastructural, economic, but also reputational with significant knock-on effects)

Air sirens, power cuts, electric trolleybuses out of service. Precious few signs of an “energy ceasefire” in Kyiv this evening.

White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia nods along on Fox & Friends as Rachel Campos-Duffy blasts that "ingrate Zelenskyy who keeps blowing up refineries and making things more complicated for the president ahead of the midterms"
Trump said he’d end Ukraine war in a day. Failing that, he began a war with Iran that made oil price soar. Then pushed Ukraine to stop striking Russian refineries. And cooled on giving Ukraine long-range missiles. Now he’s buying Russian oil pre-midterms.
Am I missing something?
As we wait to hear who’ll win the Nobel Peace Prize, here’s a glimpse of the process with our piece from last year when, exceptionally, we were allowed in to see the Oslo committee begin their deliberations (which didn’t go to the man pushing for it…)

Kimberly Guilfoyle was preparing for her congressional hearing to become U.S. ambassador to Greece when she reached out to a Trump donor with an urgent request: She needed $100,000 that she said she owed American Express—in a way that wouldn’t leave a paper trail.
“It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” she wrote on Signal, according to messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. “Please.”

Not a bad location for the last live broadcast of a long day, speaking to @BBCRadio4 from the old port in lovely Marseille.
A lot of protesters we’ve met today in Marseille say the government’s priorities are wrong: that they don’t invest enough in education, while focusing instead on the military. Whether true or not, posts like this on a day of such big student protests don’t help the optics.
Marseille protest still several thousand strong. Peaceful for now. Teachers and students we’ve spoken to talk of decaying buildings and weeks of teacher shortages in schools. Hard to see how this diffuses or ends, especially with government attempts to rein in spending.
