R-Star was bad. It was rejected for being unpopular. Its replacement - called the “Mature Asset Strategy” (MSA) - is far worse! Beware Alberta! MSA can take us down financially. It’s only good for oil bros. factsmtr.substack.com/p/from…

Hey Alberta: is this incompetence or a full on intentional lie? 9003 Acute Care Spaces is NOWHERE near a record number for our prov In the late 1980s we had 17,790 acute care spaces in hospitals (~12,000 acute care beds, +LTC beds) 1988: 7.4 beds/1000 2026: 1.5 beds/1000 1/2

Your personal information belongs to you. So, why is this government making it easier to expose, access and misuse it? Your health number is now on your driver’s licence. A cabinet minister improperly accessed confidential electoral information. The personal information of nearly 3 million Alberta voters was released. And Alberta is racing into an AI economy without comprehensive safeguards in place. The UCP talks a big game about freedom. But freedom is also about what government knows about you, who has access to it and what happens - if anything - when that trust is broken. Danielle Smith once said your private information should stay private. She was right. So, what happened to this Premier and why doesn’t her government practice what it preaches? On October 19, Albertans have an opportunity to send a message. Vote “NO” on the first nine questions and “YES” to Canada on Question 10. #alberta #abpoli #ableg #abtory #ucp #freedom

Regardless of your position on infill, look at the pattern with Danielle Smith and the UCP: ● Municipal elections: Give cabinet more power to remove elected councillors. ● Charter rights: Use the notwithstanding clause to remove Charter protections for individuals. ● Health procurement: their policy on procurement favours insiders with contracts and appointments. ● Political competition: Rewrite the rules to stop other parties from using “conservative” in their names. ● Jasper firefighting: They sought decision-making authority in an emergency they were not responsible for leading. ● Municipal bylaws: Give cabinet more power to override local decisions. ● School trustees: Restrict what elected boards can say about political and social issues. ●  Public libraries: Impose restrictions over what books people can read. ● Calgary: Considered a jurisdictional take over following the water-main failures. ● AI Data Centers: Push development while skipping consultation with residents. They demand respect for Alberta’s jurisdiction while overriding the authority of others. More power for thee. They treat disagreement as defiance, criticism as an attack, and independent institutions as obstacles. That is an increasingly authoritarian approach to government. If you can’t work with anyone you do not control, you have a leadership problem. #ableg #abpoli #abtory #alberta #ucp

Sources tell me Danielle Smith will force Edmonton to repeal its zoning bylaw. Smith's UCP loyalist friends in Edmonton Neighbourhoods United, whose agenda lost in the last election, asked for her help, just like she helped the separatists. Local democracy is dead.

Over the ten years, Premier Smith claims Alberta faced a hostile federal government, oil and gas production doubled, and Ottawa poured tens of billions into energy infrastructure. The tolerance of her big lie is almost as remarkable as the lie itself. thewalrus.ca/alberta-separat…

Funny lecture coming from Rob. A senior UCP caucus staffer watched separatists display @jkenney’s personal information from the voter database. The staffer reported it up the party chain. The UCP kept it in-house. Danielle Smith says she was never told. The NDP learned about it the next day and went straight to the RCMP with the recording. One party notified authorities. The other buried it. But please, Rob, tell the three million Albertans whose private information was leaked to your separatist pals who really takes voter privacy seriously. #ableg #abpoli

The CH that can’t balance any of its budgets? Is basically insolvent without govt bailouts on its operational budgets? The one with Access Metrics in EDM Zone EDs way worse than any AHS ones? That one? Someone should FOIP CH budgets and govt bailouts…
BREAKING!!! Danielle Smith has just announced that she is deliberately cutting out AHS from the creation of a new urgent care/birthing center in Airdrie and instead will be utilizing Covenant Care. /1 #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Please join me in calling for @BrianJeanAB to resign and for a full public inquiry into all matters Alberta Energy Regulator related. It’s long overdue.
Minister, the most important regulator in the country MUST be seen to be completely independent from govt. You just blew that big time. It’s time for your resignation and for the rest of Cabinet and Premier @ABDanielleSmith to order a public inquiry to regain confidence in AER.

Just Wow! The Minister in charge of a regulator sitting with its board members and staff in a restaurant is bad. Advertising it is unacceptable. Board member Yager with “I ♥️ Oil & Gas” sticker on his phone??? They just don’t get it. Resignations required, plus an inquiry.
It is great to have the AER in Fort McMurray this week. I really appreciate the most important regulator in Canada coming up to RMWB for three days of meetings. @AER_news

Government of Alberta media expenditures over the last 4 years: over $65.5 million. I love to see how other provinces compare. Danielle Smith brought the GoA's media-buying arm under her direct control. Source: Purchasing Connection RFP # AB-2026-06263 #ableg

What happens on October 20th? That may be the most important question before voting in the referendum. Because this isn't simply about the questions. It's about what the government intends to do with the answers. The UCP has moved away from unpopular battles over the CPP and RCMP and shifted the fight to immigration, justice, elections and federal-provincial powers. A favourable result gives them what they want: A new mandate to confront Ottawa and claim Albertans endorsed the fight. That's why this debate doesn't end on October 19. We could find ourselves voting again on separation while affordability, health care, education and our economy go unfixed. We deserve a government focused on results - not distractions. Less time picking fights. More time improving our lives. #abtory #abpoli #ableg #Alberta #Referendum #GoodGovernment #UCP
