I see the minister hasn’t resigned yet over the Alberta Energy Regulator scandals. No honour.
Alberta is leading the way in carbon capture innovation.
I was pleased to join Enhance Energy near Clive for the launch of the Origins carbon capture and storage project — the largest CCS hub project of its kind in Canada.
The project will initially store up to 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ every year, with the potential to expand to 20 million tonnes annually.
Please join me in calling for @BrianJeanAB to resign and for a full public inquiry into all matters Alberta Energy Regulator related.
It’s long overdue.
Minister, the most important regulator in the country MUST be seen to be completely independent from govt. You just blew that big time.
It’s time for your resignation and for the rest of Cabinet and Premier @ABDanielleSmith to order a public inquiry to regain confidence in AER.

The Minister in charge of a regulator sitting with its board members and staff in a restaurant is bad. Advertising it is unacceptable. Board member Yager with “I ♥️ Oil & Gas” sticker on his phone???
They just don’t get it.

AER Proceeding ID 470 is at a point where oversight Minister @BrianJeanAB and his chief of staff @Vitormarciano should be paying attention - perhaps recommending to Cabinet that a public inquiry might be needed to shed some sunlight on error coverup issues at the AER.

The Hon minister @BrianJeanAB regularly and publicly expresses confidence in the AER.
But is such confidence mirrored by the public including host landowners?
There’s an overwhelming vote of non confidence out here in the real world. I suggest it’s time to address it.

AER has issued an order requiring MAGA Energy Ltd. to abandon all of its wells (including the 6-4 well shown in the photo where I held a press conference March 12, 2026 ).
But in Armisie field the order doesn't cover all the wells or a tank battery.

Two of the wells and a tank battery in Armisie Field are licenced by another company (possibly improperly), so the abandonment order doesn't over these other operations. The tank battery is useless without wells to produce oil, gas and water to the tank battery.

Folks (incl. Regulator staff government officials apparently) don’t seem to realize or care that oil & gas production is dangerous, and produced substances are harmful to landowners’ health.
Oil company staff go home to safe beds. Landowners often do not.
Let’s fix this!
