We need to pay attention, people are providing blueprints of how to change their countries: The 140 seats won by the Serbian student party will be taken up not by students, but by academics & public figures from pre-chosen pool of 250 experts, selected by student plenums.
Celebrations have erupted in the streets of Serbia's capital Belgrade, after long-standing leader Aleksandar Vučić admitted defeat to a student-led protest movement in snap parliamentary elections. Read more: bbc.in/4BwV5ga

This is so intelligent, I want to cry: The 140 seats won by the student opposition against Serbia's nationalist government party will be taken up not by students, but by academics, professors & public figures from pre-chosen pool of 250 experts, selected by student plenums.

Phillip Island basically saying to MotoGP: OK, you don’t love me anymore, so you can fuck right off
New update: nothing happening on track until at least 3pm (two and a half hours from now), and the MotoGP race will be the priority. I think we can now say goodbye to any chance of a Moto2 and Moto3 race today - and I don't think we're going racing at all... Next update 2pm.

There's a distinct probability that six of the 22-rider full-time MotoGP grid does not start tomorrow's Australian Grand Prix. Aren't sprint races and 22 rounds a year just awesome?

#MotoGP

Someone has had a word with Carlos Sainz about his press conference quotes earlier, in which he said it was "difficult to be convinced" that the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi will happen, due to the uncertainty in the Middle East. As a result, there's some backpedaling going on, as Sainz has now put out a statement in which he's distancing himself from his two-hour-old opinion: “Following some reporting of my comments in the press conference earlier today about ending the season in the Middle East, I want to be clear that I know the FIA and Formula 1 will put safety first and completely trust them to make the right decision. We look forward to racing in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.”

A few years ago I was interviewing a well-known #MotoGP engineer and we had a few moments talking about the real world - hard times, recession etc. He said, "It's not a recession, it's a reallocation of wealth." In 1990, UK billionaire wealth amounted to 4% of UK GDP. It now stands at 22% of UK GDP. Bonkers!
You're not struggling because immigrants took your job. You're struggling because billionaires took your wages.

It's important to remember that any protest, even when legitimate, attracts young men that just want an excuse to abuse and vandalize. Even if you think the protestors have a good cause this shit is inexcusable.
French protesters beat the owner of the Parisian restaurant "La Barrique" and burned down the establishment. The woman lost everything. I’m sorry, but at this point I wouldn’t call people who burn cars, destroy businesses and attack other people’s property and people as “protesters.” That are criminals. Many of you know I studied in France, specifically in Nantes. I still remember something that happened around 2017 or 2018. As I remember it, police stopped a man who was wanted for a bank robbery. He tried to run away, was shot, and later died. The protests started against the police over that shooting. But very quickly, people began burning cars and even set a bank on fire. I understand protesting against government actions. I absolutely do. But burning someone else’s cars or destroying someone else’s businesses is not “protesting” to me. It’s a crime, and people should be held responsible for it. I still remember it so clearly because I was working part-time as a nanny just one street away. It was fucking scary to walk anywhere near that area. The parents asked me to take the children the long way around so we wouldn’t even come close to the protests. A five-minute walk became twenty minutes just to avoid them. And I’m still shocked that, as far as I remember, nobody was arrested for that destruction. You can be angry. You can protest. You can demand change. But the moment you start terrorising ordinary people and destroying property, you’ve crossed a line and became criminal.

Exciting weekend! Was very happy to be racing our GT3 car in Portimão. There were some ups and downs, but as a team we learnt a lot. I also feel I need to speak up about the hate and harassment Chris has received after the race. Everyone can have their opinions about what happened on track, but these personal attacks are not okay. Chris had a really strong stint and mistakes can happen. There’s no place for this kind of abuse in our sport or anywhere else.
