If you need more proof @sportsbetcomau and the entire gambling industry are nothing more than predatory, parasitic scum, then here it is. How the fuck could they argue that this poor young man didnt have a gambling addiction, just to absolve themselves from predatory behaviour.

Polymarket and its athlete endorsers are under fire for a market on whether any of the seven male defendants accused of raping a Cornell student will get a felony sex crime charge. There was $451K in volume, with traders placing a 28% chance on the market resolving to “yes."

Tell me again how ON should be a party of government, and that they are decent people. Grubs.

Absolutely. It’s not a ‘sport.’ It’s the cruel mistreatment of animals, many of them butchered when they have no further use.
Strong @SMH editorial arguing, rightly, that with last night's closure of Wentworth Park dogs after 90 years, it truly is time to get on with banning dog racing altogether as they have in so many other parts of the world. NSW is truly an outlier in still having it. #NSWpol

After a decorated 24-year run at ESPN, Nicole Noren resigned in protest. She couldn’t go along with the network’s all-out embrace of gambling. For the first time publicly, in @CJR, Noren shares the deeply personal reasons behind her decision. cjr.org/the-interview/nicole…

Nicole Noren spent 24 years at ESPN as a decorated producer, earning Emmy, Murrow, and Peabody awards. But when the network integrated predatory gambling apps into its network, she walked away, boldly declaring, 'I’m not going to have blood on my hands.'" This is what living by the values we say we believe in looks like. @dannyfunt @CJR

Tasmania's minister for racing, Roger Jaensch MP at the greyhound racing committee hearing this morning "Even just on the instance of the meet the other day & the injuries there clearly, all of that work hasn't been sufficient to remove that significant risk to animal welfare. And I think that's something that the community now draws a line and says this is not something that we should be supporting with government money for the purposes of entertainment" #bangreyhoundracing parliament.tas.gov.au/commit…
#deadgreyhoundsaus Hobart Tasmania last night, Angry Mac fell after colliding with another greyhound. He suffered a right hind leg "injury" and was killed at the track. Clearly unsafe. The only way to stop the deaths and injuries is to stop racing greyhounds. He was used for racing 58 times, prizemoney $16,750, dead. And imagine being proud to make public that $300,000 of taxpayers money is "not enough" for you. Yeah we see you people pulsetasmania.com.au/news/ra… #bangreyhoundracing

“Absolutely not. I will never do that.”
Victor Wembanyama was asked if he would ever sign a deal with a sports betting company: “Absolutely not. Honestly, I think it’s very sad to see some players promote it.”

Replying to @TasmanianLabor
@TasmanianLabor. ‘Reform’ can mean many things to many people. But the majority of Australians instinctively know pointless pain and suffering inflicted for gambling is simply wrong. It’s just a typical short term political cop out. 😀#politas
.@alpsa has held a detailed, two-year review of greyhound racing and determined it should continue. It’s great to see the industry supported with appropriate integrity and animal welfare guardrails - rather than banning it in a political deal to salvage a government. #politas

Dillon could claw back some support if he banned Trade Radio while there was still footy on.

More than 902,000 Australians aged 12 to 19 gamble each year - enough to fill the MCG almost nine times over. Nearly two-thirds are aged between 12 and 17. Now more than ever, we need to protect our children from the harms of gambling. It’s not normal that one in four Year 12 students is gambling underage. Australians are the biggest losers in the world when it comes to gambling. Yet our government, despite holding an overwhelming majority, chose to side with gambling companies over everyday Australians by passing watered-down legislation. We still need stronger guardrails to protect young people from this predatory industry. theage.com.au/national/victo…

$4.75B lost to pokies in NSW in the first 6 months of 2026. 7% higher than the same period last year, almost twice the rate of inflation - in the midst of a cost of living crunch. Obscene. Historically, NSW pokies are NSW Labor’s mess. NSW Labor MUST fix it.

The biggest story out of the whole Clippers debacle is that ESPN is basically confirmed to just be an outlet for team owner propaganda in-between gambling ads and Pat McAfee clips. It’s been obvious for a while, but I don’t see how you could even argue against it now.
