Do@you want to do this in your district? I am always here to connect and share the “how!” @Off2Class @summit_k12 @Principal_EL @DarrinMPeppard @ValentinaESL @denise_furlong @WIDA_UW @ColorinColorado @TannenbaumTech @burgessdave @teachbetterteam
Our bilingual kids loved connecting for our holiday gathering building wide! There is nothing better than allowing all of our to students connect with their bilingual peers. They look forward to these connections and we are proud to provide them the opportunities to have them!

When I became a school admin, I made a personal commitment to never stop teaching. - I love being w/ the kids - I love supporting teachers - I don’t want to lose my touch in the classroom I was rusty today. And that’s ok. It reminded me I need to be in the trenches more often!

This is how I teach Tier 2 words: - The word translated - Student-friendly definition - An invitation to use the vocab (question) - A sentence starter to answer the question - A visual Vocab practice is not a worksheet, but an opportunity to use it meaningfully.

There is nothing better than witnessing that moment when they finally GET IT. Never gets old. “I can never write that letter, but this time I did it right!” He erased it and wrote it again because he was so proud of himself 😍 #MonaviewOnTheMap

Since we know that first #language supports second language acquisition why would anyone ignore a student’s L1? It makes sense to encourage, invite, use, affirm, & leverage L1 as students acquire L2. #multilingual #bilingual #ELL #ESL #TESOL

15 yrs ago I had an entry level job at the Galleria, dreaming of bigger things & doing my teacher certification on the side. Today I presented to a packed room of 65+ educators on the top floor of the Westin Galleria. Full circle moment! Thank y’all for supporting me ♥️#TABE2022

great edtech products can help skill and scale great teachers. We @Off2Class know this from our work with ELLs and districts like Tulsa, OK City and others. Wonderful to see @briangreenberg calling this out @The74 the74million.org/article/wha…

When I learned about WIDA Key Uses, my teaching practice changed! I finally had a framework to teach academic language.
Luciana de Oliveira offered a great summary of language uses as genre families at #setesol22

One of the EL teachers I am mentoring had her high school students read an article about culture shock, and then illustrate what culture shock looked like for them. I absolutely love the conversations that this art created for her and her students! @DrCarolSalva @WIDA_UW
