Lewisham's consultation closes tomorrow, 25 April 2023. Responses can be sent to [email protected].
Net loss of #greenspace for #Lewisham residents needs to be addressed. Still time to respond to @LewishamCouncil's Local Plan consultation lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/pβ¦. Read more about our concerns here: cprelondon.org.uk/news/net-lβ¦

Why couldnβt they design around it?
Sad to see a #mature tree had to be felled because it got in the way of a new design at #northampton's #marketsquare π€¦ββοΈ
How many developers does it take to change a lightbulb? π€ @Lovell_UK @LewishamCouncil @cityoflondon Residents still in darkness, unsafe and down to poor planning. It's about motivation, not means!

The last remnants of Mais House will go shortly and the prominence of the site is clear, with unobstructed views across the North Downs.

The recent spate of tree destruction has left people feeling justifiably angry. That anger is a manifestation of our love for nature, but we must not let it make us bitter. Let us transmute anger into action with this 𧡠of tree campaigns you can support & actions you can takeβ¦
Once more @cityoflondon @LewishamCouncil and @Lovell_UK leave our estate without lighting. The disdain for residents is beyond doubt.

Today, Information Commissionerβs Office has issued an enforcement notice to @LewishamCouncil for failing to respond to hundreds of overdue requests.

Each tree gone in a matter of minutes π₯. This was a playspace. Developers and council clueless about what quality housing means.
THE TREES HAVE GONE.
A better solution was possible.
The Sydenham Hill carbuncle will breach London Plan standards in various ways. Low quality housing, crammed in to maximise units.
Alarming news for residents today, despite erroneous planning docs: 'demolition of Mais House, tree felling and facilitation pruning and bat relocation works will commence from tomorrow, Thursday 9 March.'

Lewisham council raising bar for planning matters to go to committee from three objections to 10. Amenity societies lose ability to get issues raised at committee, now will depend on chairs of planning committees agreeing.
Despite demolition works at Mais House, the plum trees are coming into blossom and were full of blue tits today. There is no biodiversity net gain on this development and @LewishamCouncil, @Stantec, @Hawkins_Brown, @Lovell_UK & @cityoflondon know it. #se26 #ecocide #greenwashing
Continue with the tree felling that you do not have planning permission for? Proof that @Lovell_UK
do not understand the law @LewishamCouncil
@Stantec. Not even paying lip service to biodiversity and planning regs @Hawkins_Brown

Residents in the dark once again! Incapable of lighting a footpath, but fine to build a 'quality' housing development?! What could go wrong.

Please comment on to the National Planning Policy Framework Draft Consultation, deadline 2nd March. Lots of suggestions are here πcommunityplanningalliance.orβ¦ but include that the term 'brownfield land' is abused and used to describe housing estates on land of high value.
A key player in the extreme densification strategy & destruction of biodiversity at Mais House is @Stantec .
Also submitted a planning application for listed building works with no comms, using covid as an excuse. #greenwashing #ecocide #ClimateEmergency

Views from Kirkdale caused alarm back in 2019 when the design was unveiled. We asked for quality design, instead the aim has always been to optimize capacity. Completely inappropriate for a steeply sloping site.

Destroying both the tree line on Sydenham Hill and a unique conservation area. Not to mention all the wildlife including bats, owls and stag beetles that live here #ClimateEmergency #ecocide #trees #biodiversity @WhyDemolish @WildLondon
