🍅 Think all tomatoes are the same? Think again.
The tomatoes used for pasta sauce, salsa, and canned tomatoes aren't usually the same ones you'd slice for a sandwich.
Ontario field tomatoes are grown specifically for processing. They're left to ripen on the vine before being harvested and delivered to nearby processing facilities, where they're transformed into many of the tomato products found in your kitchen.

Trespassing on Ontario farms is more than crossing a fence line—it can put farm families, livestock, crops and our food system at risk. Unauthorized access can introduce biosecurity risks, stress livestock, damage crops and infrastructure, and disrupt the daily work that keeps Ontario agriculture running. Whether it's hikers, ATV riders, photographers or others entering private property without permission, the impacts can be significant and long-lasting.
Learn more about the real cost of trespassing, the resources available to help protect your farm, and how OFA continues to advocate for Ontario farmers.
