What a wonderful evening yesterday! It was such a privilege to be invited by @weareparable to this special preview screening of #Animol. There was so much talented individuals from across the film industry, coming up and established, I didn’t know where to turn. Seeing this again only confirmed how special this film truly is. I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge congratulations to @AshleyWalters82 on his directorial debut. He has crafted something deeply authentic and emotional. It was brilliant to hear him speak during the Q&A afterwards, and give praises to the incredible team of #women behind the scenes help him bring this story successful to life. #StephenGraham is magnificent in every role he protrays. Animol is released later this month on #Sky on 30th October, and is one of my favourite films which I covered as part of my coverage. Thank you again #WeAreParable for another brilliant night out! I give this a #topboy 5/5 stars #BritishFilm #JoyGharoroAkpojotor #PS I’ve felt absolutely exhausted after #LFF which ended on Sunday. So I completely understand how everyone who attended as Press and Industry are feeling right now. Nevertheless it was an incredible festival overall, but plenty of #reviews still to catch up on.

What a joy it was to see the film community assemble for the #StreetFighter media screening last night at @IMAX @cineworld. OMG what a cinema experience! #StreetFighterMovie is simply PERFECT. #CodyRhodes absolutely steals the show with his one-liners, and the hard-hitting action sequences were mind-blowing. #RoundOne Let's fly-kick things off quickly by saying thank goodness this is a gigantic improvement on the 1994 film starring the legendary @kylieminogue. I'll say no more. My lips are sealed! #RoundTwo I remember it like it was yesterday, eyes lighting up with excitement as I bought that physical game cartridge for my pride and joy, my #SuperNintendo. Those really were the days. Those original #VideoGames were so addictive to play. You can imagine the state of my fingertips. They were absolutely battered, but every second was worth it. #RoundThree This movie is packed with #EasterEggs to delight the gaming community. I’m in a very #HappyPlace right now after finally getting the opportunity to review #WILDWOOD yesterday morning @CentralPictureH #LFF. @LAIKAStudios have absolutely smashed it. They’ve blessed us with another gem that shines brighter than any animation I’ve seen this decade. I’d like to congratulate the whole team behind this. You have given the cinema industry a fabulous gift. It was definitely worth the exhaustion of battling through London’s Sunday transport service, plus that unexpected marathon I had to run alongside all the other runners! What a heartwarming, visually stunning masterpiece. Every single second of this extraordinary animation took my breath away.

On this very day it would have been #DesmondTutu’s 95th birthday. It felt so deeply fitting that #LFF scheduled this P&I screening exactly today. I feel truly honoured to have reviewed it earlier. This is an extremely powerful documentary with genuinely never‑before‑seen footage captured over two decades by Roger Friedman and Benny Gool. I honestly felt deeply moved during certain scenes. Especially seeing the unforgettable moment Nelson Mandela walked free from prison. Hearing that famous freedom song, now #SouthAfrica’s national anthem, gave me goosebumps. Admittedly after watching this I feel even more motivated and inspired than usual. This is one extraordinary documentary, which I truly hope you all have the opportunity to see in the future.

Great way to officially kick off the 70th @BFI #LFF on #Day1. The sunshine was shining bright during the #prefestival last week. Watched #TheSocialReckoning yesterday evening @CentralPictureH it’s definitely one of those intelligent, beautifully crafted movies with some outstanding acting. Nevertheless some parts were so slow at times, you’d swear you were stuck scrolling through a never-ending long post. This is an intriguing, powerful must watch film which lays bare the wrongdoing’s and fantastically celebrates incredible bravery. It’s a fabulous true drama which is a real eye-opener if you have been out of the loop. Hmm I still found #TheSocialNetwork more groundbreaking and gripping, but this is absolutely an essential watch. Thank you @SonyPicturesUK for the invite much appreciated like always. #LFF has been very pleasant so far! I’ve been blessed with two comedies, usually they’re a few unsettling ones early on. Definitely not complaining, It’s refreshing to review such uplifting films. @wickermovie is ridiculously funny and heartwarming. #OliviaColman you legend!
