By the time we get anywhere near 2035, climate extremes will have become so deadly, everyone will want faster cuts.
But without far more ambition ℕ𝕆𝕎, it’ll likely be too late to stop catastrophic tipping points like #AMOC collapse.

Lots of talk about the new 81% emissions target for 2035 but:
1️⃣Our domestic targets over the next 10 years are far short of what's needed for 1.5°C.
2️⃣They aren't even tight enough to meet our 2030 international commitment (68% on 1990)!

Europe’s carbon capture plans projects could cost €520 billion - with €140 billion of public subsidy.
90% of projects are nowhere near ready to deliver.

Important new study:
🛑Warming impact of imported LNG is 33% worse than coal
🛑Only 1/3 of the GHG emissions from LNG imports are at the point of use. The rest is largely leaks of methane along the supply chain.
So #CCS ignores 2/3rds of the emissions.
