(5/5) We’re calling for change: publication of 20% of family judgments each month, mandatory judicial training on gender bias and victim-blaming, and exploration of AI tools to help identify it. Bias decided behind closed doors cannot be challenged. We must tackle bias in our justice system, wherever we find it.

NEW: I interviewed Dylan* who was taken from his mother aged nine by the family courts. She was barred from seeing him for six years after he was removed on the advice of an unregulated psychologist. Now, reunited, they tell their story for the first time. tinyurl.com/eupnejef

I'm extremely pleased to see the government announce that it is going to repeal the presumption of parental involvement. This is a huge victory for @clairethrossell and others have fought tirelessly to ensure children lives aren't put at risk due to unsafe contact orders.

Typical to blame a wife for a man’s rape! Family court judges still dismiss rape now. In 2019, Judge Tolson: the woman "was not in any sense pinned down", she "could easily, physically, have made life harder" for the man – it "did not constitute rape". Blood on their hands!

A big thank you to @SheraFamily for putting on the conference today and also to the many speakers who took part and gave up their time. I found every one informative in their own way one of the big ones for me was @NotSeparation as since I've been speaking out on #neurodiverse #SEND I have had so many contacting me. I found @rachelhorman exceptionally good on coercive control. @drrimahussein was so interesting to listen to and I took a lot out of that as well @SDDivorceCoach was another one I'd highly recommend too. @s_ayebkarlsson was exceptional they all were in all honesty. The people I directed to the conference have been thanking me most of the day knowing others know what they are facing including legal rep such as @DrProudman has meant the world to them

I was a child in care they paid for a foster carer to have loft extensions. They allow open abuse of children. They encourage young people to get into domestic violence relationships they pay for there partners rent to abuse them. Cause so much trauma and provide no therapy !!!

What we exposed @NotSeparation is confirmed in @thetimes “Parents accused of faking their children's #longCovid” "Medical ignorance is leading to parents of children with long #Covid being reported to social services in an echo of the way professionals dismissed ME, doctors say."

Look what @BucksCouncil spent on one child in "care" but didn't support Fern #JusticeForFern @rowan_rises Runaway spending on "looked after children" drains funds from disabled mums and Adult Social Care. . . High needs disabled adults are threatened with care homes to save ££.
1 local authority spending more than £1m for the care of a single child on 4 occasions over the last 12 months, obscene.Imagine if they used that budget to stop kids being taken into"care"#CareIncome instead of feeding a profiteering child removal industry.bit.ly/44pdJGp

An outrage that 2 babies have died in prisons in past 5 years; women in prison 7 times more likely to suffer stillbirth.

.@WinVisibleWomen at #NoMoreBenefitDeaths @NotSeparation protesting against deliberate destitution of mothers and children, especially disabled single mothers.
We heard from @WinVisibleWomen at today's @Dis_PPL_Protest protest. Disabled mothers are disproportionately impacted by the Universal Credit sanctions regime. Too many of us have died, leaving children and families behind. #NoMoreBenefitDeaths

2. What is the family court “crisis”? Saturday 20 January, 10:30 GMT Speakers: Anne Neale, Legal Action for Women and Tracy Norton, @WinVisibleWomen (@NotSeparation) Anne and Tracy are outstanding campaigners and advocates for families and children failed by the family courts and social services. They have been part of the collective Support Not Separation since 2017, working with families across the UK and worldwide. Anne and Tracy will introduce us to the big picture of the family court scandal. It concerns both private law (child custody) and public law (care proceedings, forced adoption). They will tell us how layers of discrimination impact families who just need a little support and instead have their children taken.
