Good interview. Lots of good stuff about how to immerse yourself in a subject to naturally express it in the creative process. And her remarks about focusing on the beauty of creation rather than destruction is great. Also lots of assurances that her imagination and vision are aligned with CS Lewis and the majority of his fan base that I think are clearly way overstated.

I didn't hate @AngelStudiosInc's "Angel and the Badman". But I didn't love it either. And it's certainly nowhere near as good as the John Wayne original. My latest for @WNGdotorg.

I can officially say the best "faith-based" film so far this year is about a Muslim hitman dad fighting a Muslim mafia and non-denom Christian vigilantes starring Mahershala Ali and John Cho. See it if you can.

Greta Gerwig on preparing to write Narnia: The Magician's Nephew:
"I read or re-read everything Lewis wrote. Then I tried to read everything he read."
She also retraced C.S. Lewis's life and steps in Belfast, Cambridge, and Oxford, hoping to better understand the author so that "my instincts would align with his”.

I'll have to look at the full quote. But this looks suspiciously like redefining a word so you can answer "yes" when the real answer is closer to "no".

Greta Gerwig says faith in her ‘NARNIA’ film is very much present both in front & behind the screen.
“Film and faith have always gone hand in hand… The very act of making a film is an act of faith. Shooting on celluloid is faith.”

Read @NormalGuy8's newest review of @realDailyWire's film "Run Hide Fight: Infidels":
"...the movie routinely shows more contempt for Western progressives than its Islamist villains. The filmmakers spend lengthy time allowing the Islamists to murder, humiliate and torture American progressives in ways that often feel gleeful."

The Biblical epic series "House of David" is now in production on Season 3, which will also be the show's last.
“We're incredibly grateful to be back in Greece with the cast and crew who've given everything to this story," said executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn. "Season Three brings us to the final season of this trilogy - the chapter of David's life we set out to tell from the very beginning. We're honored to finish it alongside our partners at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, and we hope audiences feel just how far David has come by the time his story reaches the throne."

Roger Ebert gave a negative review of Mel Brooks's "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" (1995). One day, when Mel Brooks ran into Ebert, he said, "Listen, you, I made 21 movies. I’m very talented. I’ll live in history. I have a body of work. You only have a body.” Roger Ebert was saddened by the encounter as he was a big supporter of Mel Brooks' works from his debut.
Ebert later wrote, "I was surprised he didn’t realize himself that 'Dracula: Dead and Loving It' (1995) just didn’t work. Yes, Brooks has put together a body of work and yes, a lot of it has made me laugh, but I would not be doing him a favor if I did not tell the truth."
